Kandis pov :

Callen dropped me in front of my apartment , the doors of elevator opened I entered inside .my went back to my conversation with callen and the small Moment we had on street , just thinking about it made my lips slowly form into a smile.

I heard a dig walking towards my apartments door it was opened . Coming inside I heard some noises of someone talking . I saw Smith and Nora was talking with each other and t.v was on ,on a random channel . " Smith " I called .

His eyes caught mine , I walked towards him . He got and hugged me .

" What are you doing here " I asked
" I had some work nearby so I thought I should meet you two " I smiled
" Its been a long time I met Nora "

My eyes shifted towards her as I found a blush creeping on her face . Woah woah woah what's happening .

" I will go in my room , I have some homework to do . I will come back soon after I am done " I lied . I wanted them to have their time , though whatever I am thinking I don't know if it's true but I still don't want to disturb their time together.

Nora once told me Smith was my parents Friend but she used to work with him too but after my parents death soon he left the work and now he owns a gun shop .
Thinking about this my mind went to the conversation I had with James . My parents death....

I need to ask Smith , James said Smith was the one who told him this. I need to .
I went towards the door of my room to go to Smith who is outside in living room but then I remembered he is with Nora. I backed-up . I got on my bed lazily and covered by body with blanket .

I can hear some laughs from living room ,I am happy they are having their good time. Nora has always been with me . When I used to be with my parents she was like a sister , when I lived with uncle ducas she cared for me like a mom and now she is the only one I have . Her role kept changing in my life but she was the only one who is still here besides me .

It's been a hour i have been in my room, I didn't have any homework but I studied as I didn't have anything to do and now I remembered we have to go to museum , I packed my bag with the things I will need and I walked out of my room . I saw they were still sitting on the couch as they had a big smile on their face .

" Smith you want to come for a walk? "

He smiled " sure "

I watched him as he and Nora got up .
" I will be at home , come back soon " I nodded . We went towards elevator when I heard Nora's voice " wait "

We both turned our head towards her
" Smith are you going to stay here tonight? " I looked at him . He came late or he stayed till late but he stayed whole night .

" Yeah , I have some work tomorrow too , it's near from here "

" That's great , it's the first time you are staying here Smith ". I said .

The elevator came up and we heard a dig . We got in and waved to Nora who was still standing there .

We both didn't say anything until we came out of the building .

" How are you ? " Smith asked me

" I am fine , what about you ? " I asked my gaze in front.

" I am fine too , kat tell me about that bo- " I cut him off as I got too eager to ask him about my parents.

" Do you know James ? James Keller " I looked at him and he nodded with a "hmm"

" He is callen's brother . You remember callen ? He came with me to your shop " he nodded " yes , what happened ?"

" He told me something " I looked towards him , he was looking at me . He let me continue .

" He told me you both once had a talk and that my parents died in a ... Mission. I don't know what 'mission' mean here but whatever it may mean , my parents died in a car accident . You know that right ! You gave me the documents so you know " my eyes wandering everywhere except his eyes . I don't want to know it's true .

" Kat " he called . I saw him sitting on a bench , I followed him and sat beside him . No one talked for a few minutes as we saw car's and two wheelers passing by .

"I am sorry " just hearing that I quickly turned towards him.

" W-what are y-you sorry about?" I shuttered . " Smith -"

" Yeah you are right , I don't want to lie to you anymore "

" Smith please " I don't want I am saying please for . Please to not tell me ? Please to tell me that it's not true .

" Kat listen , don't act now. Listen to me first okay " he said as he kept his hand on mine . I nodded . I have to listen to him , I cannot just act knowing half of the things.

" Your parents were special agent , they were hired to protect our president, Mr Wilson . They died in a mission , a mission to protect Mr Wilson and his son "

Son? Finn? Or Lucas?

" I know that you know who Finn is , I saw you at the hospital yesterday . I said I have work here right ! I will let you know soon . I cannot tell you everything now " my mouth opened . My eyes were moist but I won't cry .

" Your parents died to protect Mr Wilson and Finn . They were special agents so their identity is kept secret , even after they died ".

I have been thinking -
My thoughts were cut off when a hand was placed on my shoulder.

" Kat -"

" Nora know about this ?" I asked

He looked down and nodded .

" Since when " my lips quivered and it came out like a whisper .

" Since start " they have been lying to me my whole life , about my parents . They never told me when I was crying at night because I missed them . They never told me when I couldn't sleep because I wanted to go in my mom's embrace . They all lied .

I got up , " and what about uncle ducas?"

" He also -", I cut him off as I ran back home.

" Kat please " I never turned . A tear slipped from my eyes as ran back to home .

I opened the door and ran into my room as I heard Nora's voice " kat are you bac- what happened? "

I didn't answer her , I closed the door . I cried silently . I wasn't angry , my parents choose it . They choose to work for president and to keep their identity secret . Smith , Nora , uncle ducas were all doing what my parents started.

That's why I never knew where they went , when they came , what was Their work. Everyone knew but me ! Their daughter had no idea . She was crying all her life thinking her parents died in a car accident .

What does it matter? They died after all but what hurts is everyone lied. They were all so close to me but they all lied .
I am not angry at anyone . My parents atleast protected Mr Wilson and Finn. I wasn't angry on them . I don't know what I was feeling .

" Kat , come for dinner please . You have been in that room since hours . Smith isn't back too , what happened? " I heard Nora's voice . I don't want to talk with anyone .

I looked Myself in mirror my eyes were red but not that I stopped crying few hours ago . I opened the door .

" Nora I will come back home late , you go and eat first"

With that I came out and went to the park . My neighborhood has no children to play here and I also end up coming here whenever I missed my parents.
I heard my phone ring , I saw the caller ID it was callen. I sighed . Why is he calling me now?

I looked at my phone again for few seconds and accepted the call .
" Hello " I said

" Are you okay? "

That's it , I couldn't control my tears anymore as I kept my hand on my eyes to hide them .

" Kat?"

" I am okay " I said but it came out as a sob . I am so stupid why am I crying so much .

" I am coming there "
" Wha-" before I could say anything he cut the call .
