Intersex is an umbrella term for people whose traits, hormonal differences, chromosomal differences, or anatomy (such as external or internal reproductive organs) differ from the typical notions of a male or female body. A individual's intersex traits may include one or multiple differences of aforementioned types. These differences can be noticed at birth or later in life.
