Public school was absolutely great, and I had to say, I was excellent with numbers. Math, P.E., and Art had to be my favorites.

I woke up again, same cycle as ever, and kissed my mother goodbye. Rushing onto my bus, everyone wanted to move my bag and sit next to me. But every time, I waved them off and simply said I'm waiting for someone. And they listened. When Cake got on the bus, I waved and moved my bag. The ride was filled with a comfortable silence, which turned quickly uncomfortable as the question swarmed my head. Did you mean to kiss me? What was in that letter, because I sure didn't drop anything. But I kept to myself, because I didn't wanna lose him so quickly.

As time went on, Cake gave me a questioning look. "Loser? Are you okay?" He asked, shaking my  shoulder and trying to get me to make eye contact with him. "I didn't drop anything at lunch yesterday— I keep all of my possessions in close reach. I never trust anyone with my stuff." I explained.  "Oh..." Cake muttered, shuffling in his seat. "If you wanted to give me something, you could just have said that before. Of course, I'd have to check for cameras or tracking devices; but I trust you wouldn't do that."

"Actually, it was a letter."

"Fan mail. I see."

"Completely different type. Read it." He said, opening the envelope gently. His hands made the tension soften inside me, and I opened the letter inside, tingling with warmth.

My dearest Loser,

I've been a long time fan of your work, and admire your confident, suave attitude towards the world. I wished I could see you for myself and tell you about me all my life, so when I bumped into you here, it felt like a miracle.

To express how kind you've been to me for the short time you've been here would take dictionaries worth of writings, but truth be told, I thought my love for you was a phase. But as I learned more about you, the harder these feelings have hit me. I would love to get with you, but I understand if you have a beautiful girlfriend waiting for you somewhere.

Here's my hopes,

Cake
