I start running tentatively on the narrow strip of land that is the floating island.
Up ahead of me looms a long wire, with a little steel circle on it. I know what it is, it's a zip line. I jump on to the zip line, and concentrate on hanging on.
After about thirty seconds, it deposits me at the other end, and I run a little bit further, taking a sharp right turn in the process.
Oh no, is my first thought, when I encounter a large, and seemingly dangerous waterfall, right in my path.
I have only one option- to jump. I gain speed, and stretch my legs to their furthest extent. I land on the other side safely, just getting the tip of my boot wet.
Over the next few hours? minutes? I encounter many different obstacles, including jets of fire, overhanging rock cliffs, and about 4 more waterfalls.
Up ahead of, me, a large mine shaft entrance blocks my path. I run through the entrance, and hop into a mine cart that was left on the track.
I speed through an underground mine shaft, occasionally ducking, and at one point, leaning my mine cart to the left to avoid toppling off the edge of the tracks.
Finally, I reach daylight. I hop out of the cart, and continue running.
About 50 metres up the track, I spot a large crack in a rock to the side of the path. I duck through it, and collapse on the ground.
When I have regained my breath, I walk a little way down the tunnel, and find my mum crying, my dad comforting mum, Guy shaking his head, as though he's annoyed at me, and the tour guide standing around awkwardly.
I tap my mum on the shoulder, and she envelops me in a bone crushing hug.
Later that nigh at the hotel when I'm getting ready for bed, Guy comes up to me, and whispers "You're taking after me little cousin, your mums not gonna like that." And winks.
That night, I go to sleep feeling happy. Best. Birthday. Ever.
