That night after I was settled into my new home with my new mama and I guess New daddy we went shopping. Marsha was limited by daddy to only buy clothes a few books and tapes and only two toys. But no budget. No daddy didn't give Marsha a budget like he used to give mama. Or maybe mama made all that up and spent the money daddy left for me on herself. I'll bet that's What she did. Marsha threw out the five outfits I had owned my whole life. We threw them in a fire pit and burned them. I now had at least ten outfits for every season. As well as a few New books and tapes. And I got that Barbie I had always asked mama for and a teddy bear to befriend the one I already had. We were at the mall for three hours that night while daddy stayed home to do paperwork. He said I needed a mama day to get used to Marsha. I have to admit for the first month it wasn't all that bad. Marsha had gotten me My homework assignments and I finished the fifth grade from home. I had everything I needed with Marsha and daddy. She didn't even mind if I called her Marsha instead of mama. But when in daddy's presence I called her mama no wanting to ruin the New daddy I had come to enjoy much better than the last.
