I Lost My Closest Friend Chapter 3

When I arrived at school to talk to my friend Amy, she said something that shocked me! "Ugh, what are you doing here?" Amy said while snarling her nose. "What do you mean?" I said. Amy ignored me and walked off with my worst enemy, Amber! She were walking side my side while her minions followed quickly behind. "What just happened?" I said with tears starting to fill my eyes. I ran into the bathroom, locked myself into a stall, shut the lid on the toilet and sat with my head in my knees. I cried so hard, which makes me sound pathetic, but I was really upset, Amy was my only friend, without her, I had no one, not even my parents, or the sister I had hoped would be on my side. I looked at my watch and realized I was 25 minutes late to Math, but I didn't care, but I knew I had to go, or my parents would just hate me more. I opened the door to math class with my mascara smeared on my face. Everyone looked at my like I was crazy. The teacher yelled at me for being late, I just sat down next to this girl named Isabel. I had never talked to her, but this was the only seat open, but Isabel could tell something was wrong. The next thing I knew I felt a tapping on my leg. I looked down and saw Isabel's hand with a note. I took it and she smiled. I opened it and it read "Hey, I know we aren't close but I'm here if you need to talk to someone." That filled me with joy! I really needed this. I smiled back at Isabel and finished class. After school Isabel and I exchanged contacts so we could talk, well, so I could talk. On my walk back home it had hit me. Why did Amber break off our friendship for Amber, she hated her? I guess I was too upset to really think this through. I wanted to text Amber to ask, so I opened the message app and saw something I would never in my wildest dreams expect to see. It said and I quote "Ugh, your ugly I was only friends with you cause your rich, but now I'm as rich as you so we're done!" I can't believe it said I sent that to Amy! I never sent that, it was like I was hacked or something, but then it hit me. "Lily!" I yelled on he top of my lungs, but Lily never came in. I was so mad at her so I yelled again, but no one answered. I started to get scared. I walked into the kitchen to find no one. "Mom? Dad?" I yelled. No reply. I called my mom, no answer. I called my dad, no answer. After much self convincing I called my sister, and yes my parents got her a phone at this age, but no answer. I texted my parents over and over, no answer. I ran outside and ran across the street, looking frantically in every store. I ran until my legs could no more. I ran back home in tears, what had happened to my family? I sat on my bed and called Isabel. Thankfully she answered. "Hey, you can go ahead, I'm listening!" She said sweetly. Wow she was amazing. I told her everything, about my parents hating me, and my sister being crazy, and that my whole family is missing. "When Amber quit being friends with me, I had no one, I have no one." I said desperately "You have me, I'll be your friend!" She said. I smiled and thanked her. Isabel was so nice, and we are best friends now. I was still scared about my family, even though they were treating me so poorly, I couldn't help to worry about them. I went to sleep after calling person after person to try to find my family. In the morning I hoped to find my family in my home, drinking coffee while on their phones. I quickly ran into the kitchen to find them, but no one was there. I walked to school that day and was really late. All of a sudden I heard the principal call me from across the hall, I turned around and I think she could see the sadness in my eyes. She walked toward me and hugged me, come in my office, we need to talk. I would have been scared but the warm smile on her face comforted me. We sat down in her office. "Kailey, your a happy and fun girl, but now your late and walking into classes with mascara running down your face, what's happening, you don't need to tell me but please let me know if I can help." I told her that she couldn't help me but I would tell her the truth, she was stunned. "Have you been living alone ever since your family disappeared?" she asked. "Yes, I have, that's why I'm late, I have to walk." I explained. She felt horrible and asked if I wanted to stay at her house. I said it would be nice but she didn't have to, but she insisted and I eventually gave in. When we arrived at her house it was huge, it was a mansion, bigger than mine! When we walked in I saw Amber and Amy. I stood there stunned without moving. "Is something wrong Kailey?" she asked. "W-why is Amber here?" I asked. "Oh my gosh, I forgot to tell you, Amber is my niece." she exclaimed. What! This was crazy, but why was she at her Aunt's house? I asked the principal nicely and she told me her parents were out of town for 3 months and she was going to be staying with her. If my life couldn't get any worse! The crazier part was Amber was in the room right next to mine, she would stay up calling a lot of random people all night long, but there was still no sign of my parents. All of a sudden the principal ran into my room, what she said had me shook!
