The Chronicles of Ostrunov 4 The Time Intruder

Chapter 1

Today seems to be the day everyone in the continent had been waiting. People are all speaking about incoming peace. The treaty of neutrality between Los Cielo and the empire was continentally broadcasted, which means the end of Los Cielo - Oceania forty years' war. Even though there were no battles for the decades, traveling across borders without a necessary document still be forbidden. People can only find trading in the black market, and they can contact their relatives by a few channels. Since King Skyler knows all about this, he has tried to end his ancestor's conflict for many years. With Martino's bits of help, the empire is willing to gradually alleviate border regulations and rules, including new trade routes to Los Cielo. Finally, the most opportune moment has come.
Even though the treaty was already secretly signed on the Oceanian battleship a couple of days ago, the official ceremony is still the most significant event in history. There will be a celebration in every street and town, which is vulnerable to being a target for terrorists, also the demons.
Security in Hjellestad, where the ceremony takes place, is vigilant. Police officers, Soldiers, and Wizards from both kingdoms are in every part of town to prepare for their kings' arrival.
On Royal battleship leaving Skogfjord heading to the south, Skyler looks back to the coast while talking to his little brother.


"We shall reach Hjellestad in the morning. You can fly ahead of me. This ship is too slow for a sorcerer like you."

"But I like sailing. Besides, there's more I can do with you here."

"You think? I supposed I get used to flying alone, but with the important event, I can't help but come with such enormous fleets."

"Come on, big brother. don't forget you've just officially left the capital for the first time. your safety is their priority."

"Which is why Tadashi gave these fleets for me. Since your evil kidnapped me, he is now very obsessive and has to stay in the palace to keep the capital away from any rebel."

"Here, you have General McQueen and me. Everything in this ship is in my eyes. No need to worry; you relax and prepare for tomorrow's speech."

While everything seems perfectly peaceful, one boatman suddenly reports that the sky changes unnaturally. They look up and what they see is nothing but an uncanny scene.
There're bolts of lightning with mixed colors covering a clear sky; then the ocean turns madly. In just a few seconds, The ship is pitching and yawing violently.

"What! What the hell is going on! Is this the ambuscade?"
Skyler panicked, looked around to search for the culprit.

"I don't think so. Hang on, let me check it first."
As Martino uses magic to detect any abnormality, he surprisingly finds nothing. No dark arts or devils have to blame, even gods or satans.

"I can't believe it! No one is behind this! and not just here; I just received tons of S.O.S signals from all around the continent!"
Martino is terrified, but, to protect his brother, he orders all battleships to head back to the nearest coast without concern.

Not for long, they finally reach the port of Knutsvik city, South of Skogfjord. After finding that no men got hurt, Skyler is so relieved. Nonetheless, the situation is still far from over. The sky is deadly screaming, combined with ambiguous weather. The sea is waving violently while the terrain is shaking. People flee as a group of thunderbolts hits the town. All you can hear is people crying hopeless mixed with the horror of mother nature. It's like doomsday.
The sky starts to crack, and tons of fragments fall like rain. Martino watches and realizes something. Then he casts the spell.

Shortly, everything becomes quiet.

Skyler opens his eyes slowly and finds that everything has stopped. He steps back from one of the enormous fragments frozen above his head. He soon notices that only he can move.

"What is just happened?"
"I have stopped the time."
Martino replied.

"Hey, Can someone tell me what in the world is happening! and why you stopped the time?"
Skyler asked with curiosity.

"Honestly, I know the same as you. But from what I saw, I bet the error time dimension may cause it. which is why it affected the whole world entirely."

"Time dimension?"

"Yes, it is. Our world was formed and sustained by the unique time dimension connected with several universes. Everything in this world relies on the stream of time. The past, the present, and the future are its product. Typically, a few high-ranked wizards can successfully make their way through time. However, no one dares to interfere with this complex dimension. Making it imbalance will lead all creatures living in it to chaos."

"Hold on, are you going to say that ..?"

"That's right. Someone must illegally travel back through time and change something that shouldn't. If we don't do anything, this world will soon be ruined and disappear."

"This is Insane! the dark arts? and what are we going to do?"
Skyler feels frustrated and confused.

"That's why I stopped the time. At least the effect of the dimension can not do anything here. But it's just temporary. I don't know how to fix this yet, but I know we need to find the way out of here."

"Wait! and where will you go? and what about these people?"

"They're just freezing. Once we fix the problem, the dimension will reset everything here, like it never happens."

"Then why I'm not freezing? You planned this?"

"Yes, I intend to take you to the safe place, then I shall continue the journey with Vincent."

"I will not let you go! without me!"
Skyler said with seriousness.

"Huh, I know you'll say that. Then let's go!"

"One more thing, can you take Monty with us? I don't want to leave him here."

"Ok, fine, but just one more person."
Martino then cast the spell to unfreeze Lightning. He is confused and curious after recovering from a frozen. But before asking more questions, Martino orders Vincent to summon the magic wormhole and begins their journey.

Soon, they arrive at their destination, Aldebaran, the Academy of Magic.

"What is this place?"
Skyler asked while looking around.

"Here we are, my old school, 'Aldebaran, the Academy of Magic', we are now in the magic realm of the solar system. Seeing that the school is independent of any time dimension, you guys are safe here. Typically, its location is top secret, so only current students and postgraduates with permission can find and use the gateway. Fortunately, as the former student president and the Royal Westergaard member, I received the particular fast track to come back here anytime with anyone."

"So you studied here? this place is really beyond what I was thinking."
Skyler is still excited.

"All right, guys. Let's go to meet my favorite professor. I hope he might help us."
Martino takes everyone to meet professor Frederikson at his office. Once they arrive, Martino is surprised as he sees the spirit of Fomor Emperor Lucas and King Axel also in the room. He ran towards them happily.

"Father! Father Lucas! How did you come here?"

"Martino! Skyler! my little boys! Thank god you two are all safe!"
Axel said while he hugged his son tightly.

"I brought him here, Anders, when the chaos happened, even in the land of the afterlife, I could know it. I highly suspected it must involve time dimension, so I rushed in here. Axel asked to come with me too. He was so scared if you two were in mortal danger."

After meeting, Martino does not hesitate to get to the point.

"Father Lucas, I believed that someone has been trying to interfere with the dimension by traveling through the past. I must fix it before it's too late. But there's a problem; I have no idea which timeline I have to go."
"I was thinking the same; that's why I come here, so professor, can you give us any clue ?"
Lucas asked after turning his head to Frederiksen.

"Oh, don't push pressure on your old man, Lucas. I haven't used these ancient spells for a very long time; not sure if this is going to work."
Said Frederiksen, drawing the symbol on the floor before casting the spell with a magic orb. Then magic aura grows up from the floor and releases its beams flying lively in the room, combining and forming a cloud of sand-like particles floating in front of them.

"Err, Can anyone tell me what it is?"
Lightning asked.

"It is how our time dimension looks like at the moment. You can see it completely scattered."
Lucas explained. Then Frederiksen adds more.

"Totally disaster if you asked me. General. I have seen the beginning and the end of many galaxies for decades, but this thing shocks me."

"Sir, if it keeps going on, what will happen?"
Skyler asked. Frederiksen was silent for a while and answered him.

"The dimension will collapse and reboot itself, which means our world will vanish as well."

After hearing this, Skyler turns white and speechless. Everyone in the room says nothing. A few minutes later, Martino asks the professor with curiosity.

"Professor, is there any way we can locate a defect?"
"Well, the reregulating spell may answer that. I start, and you three join then."
Frederiksen said while looking at three sorcerors. They are all agreed. He cast the spell to the cloud, then Martino, Lucas, and Vincent. As the particles rearrange, it reveals the trigger point Martino can quickly notice.

"There it is! up there! I think that's the timeline we are looking for!"

After that, Frederiksen finally locates an impaired timeline.

"During the Qyzlous Era, between 240 Q.E. to 247 Q.E., does it sound familiar to you, Lucas?"

When he heard, Lucas immediately recognized.
"Yes! I remember! I was in my last year at Ulamiton Academy. Lots of things happened. Do you remember about "the bloody Christmas," comrade?"

"How can I forget that! Our last trip with Immanuel, the chaotic final exam, the first navy war with a bitter duel, and what else? Oh, man, so many unforgettable memories that I can't recall all of them. After you become an emperor, the only event we met was the day you took Martino back to Oceania."
Said Axel.

"I do not doubt if it becomes a target. That makes me want to know who did this! How cruel!"
Lucas said with emotion, making Martino can't wait to go.

"Then I will be there as soon as I can! so brother, do you still want to come?"
He asked Skyler again.
"Absolutely! I will not just sit and wait here for nothing!"
With his intention, Martino leaves no choice but to accept.

"Please don't worry, Prince. I'll take care of Skyler for you."
said Lightning.

"Thank you, brother-in-law. All right, father Lucas, do you have any advice?"
Martino turns his head to Lucas.

"Be careful, Anders. During the muddle dimension, traveling back in time will be the most dangerous journey. You may need this to guide."
After that, Lucas gives him a magic compass.

"This magic compass will help when you get lost during walking through the timeline. When something bad happens, this will bring you back here. Your father and I will stay here with a professor to see what I can do. You can always contact me with your orb."

Lucas gave him a big hug. Before leaving, Axel suddenly changes his mind, which surprises everyone.
"Wait! I will go with you."

"What? are you serious?"
Lucas asked.

"Comrade, I'm sorry, but I can't let my children go alone. Also, they're heading to our era; it's better to travel with a guide."
Axel told his friend harshly, making Lucas realize that he could not stop him.

"You have never changed at all, comrade. Your children did get a brave heart from you. Still, you can't do anything much with that spiritual form. And I think I can fix that."
After that, Lucas and Frederiksen quickly prepared a potion and gave it to Axel.

"Here, drink it."

Axel did, soon, his form started to resurrect itself, change back to the human body. While looking in the mirror, he finds himself standing on the floor, with a sense of temperature, vibration, and an uncomfortable, outdated uniform. He feels amazed when he touches his body and senses a feeling from his hands.

"Oh My God! Am I dreaming? I'm human again! I didn't sense these feelings for a while. You never told me about this!"

"It's a resurrection potion. But like other transformation spells, it's temporary. but no problem for your journey."

Skyler and Martino watch his father repeatedly as they have never seen him before.
"What's wrong, kids? can't you remember your father?"

"Well, What should I say? You look young than I remember."
Said Skyler.

"My My, this kid!"

"It's like I have you back again, father. All right, let's go! we can't waste any time!"
Said Martino; he changed himself to his golden form and summoned the gate of time. He also orders Vincent to cast a spell on the others.

"All right, everyone. I'm not going to lie, but this may not end well. For those who have never experienced it, Time travel is nothing like any ordinary journey. One pitfall, and you may be gone forever. Even I had no idea I could make it to the destination in this situation. So it would be best if you guys stayed close to me until the end. Vincent's spell will keep you away from crazy whirlpools or wormholes."

When the door opens, the madness of dimension creates a huge crazy wind blow and destroys all decoration around it. Everyone rushes into the gate before it closes and disappears in no time.
