Little Girls

When little girls lie in bed
And dream of happy things
They sometimes sit and ponder
Of princes, queens and kings

They dream a girl is sitting high
in a tower tall
Daring princes try to climb
Braving the chance to fall

Of princesses since fell asleep
Protected by the thorns
Where she will only wake up
When the roses there are torn

Of princesses turned servant
For their sisters and Lady Tremaine
But with a glass slipper and a love
She stayed to always reign

Of little mermaids, Curious and brave
Wondering beyond the shore
Asking evil sea witches for help
Not knowing what's in store

These little girls
So young and immature
They'll continue to dream
That much is sure

But when they grow up
to final maturity
They will leave behind
What could be seen as obscurity

Leaving the dolls
They so much desired
For deadlines and due dates
And all that's required

To leave the thoughts
Of magic and wonder
And finally let go of the past
As they grow up and finally go under
the spells of adulthood

The little girls, hearts so pure
Grew up too fast
The magic could not last
For magic is sadly, but a thing of the past

Hey guys!
This is my first time posting anything on Wattpad so thanks for giving my 'book' a try. Hopefully you will continue to read my poems. I think I'll add one every week or so. Twice a week if I'm feeling especially happy.
