It was dark, a white and pink spider demon leaned against the wall in an alleyway while angrily trying to light a cigarette but the lighter wasn't  working. "Fuck! Damn thing..." She hissed out as a small flame burned her finger.

It wasn't long until she heard the clacking of footsteps coming towards her that she was aware that she wasn't alone.
"You can kill a demon again with a face like that, babe, what's up?" A TV static-like voice asked her.

Marah glanced over with her mismatched eyes and narrowed them with a scoff, seeing Vox with his shit eating grin. "Why the fuck are you askin? You been sent to keep tabs on me?" She asked him, her New Jersey accent becoming a bit more prominent with the hostility she showed him.

"Hah, nah... Information is just my business. Can't really blame you for asking questions about something this obvious." Vox said as he walked close to her, easily towering over her about a good two feet.

"Even ones that don't got nothin' to do with ya?" Marah asked, finally being able to light her cigarette and place it between her lips, taking a drag of the cancer stick.

"Especially those ones~... Spill." He told her, looking her up and down while an eyebrow on his screen over his eye raised.

Marah bit her bottom lip and held her arms, her cigarette between two fingers as she slouched against the wall and her bangs fell in front of her face. "Just... him." She said softly, closing her eyes.

Vox's own eyes widened and he looked at her, shocked. "Oh..." He said quietly, making the spider scoff.

"Forget it, you wouldn't understand." Marah said, rolling her eyes as she stood from against the wall to leave but he quickly stepped forward, gently grabbing her elbow.

"No- i-... I would." He told her, his eyes looking at her and for a moment, he saw a sudden understanding.

"O-oh..." She whispered, gulping the sudden bile down her throat that tried to come up. Of course that bastard would even hurt someone that was supposedly close to him. That's all he ever does.

Vox scoffed quietly and looked away, crossing his arms as he closed his eyes. Marah sighed and looked at him before taking a drag of her cigarette and walking a bit towards him, her heeled boots clacking against the pavement and she stood by his side.

"I guess... There's just times I keep thinking about what I could say and do... But I don't know if there is anythin'." She looked at her hands after she threw her cigarette down and squashed it, her hands clenching into fists. Vox looked at her hands and back at her face before looking away. "Yeah..." He mumbled.

Marah looked up and took a deep breath. "Sometimes it's like I met him yesterday..." She sung softly, a memory clouding her mind.
It was when she and Valentino had met, he stood in the doors with a grin on his face. "He waltzes in with just a smile down to play..."

Valentino waltzed through the crowd that was near the stage, everyone seemed to be talking about him, his name leaving their lips.

"He seems to be the name on everybody's lips..."

Valentino approached the stage where a younger, and seemingly much happier, Marah swung her hips as she sang for the club. She had longer hair and a long, sparkly pink dress on as she had a teasing smile towards the crowd and then she saw him.
