Chapter 9
We woke up to the alarm going off in the main room. Optimus quickly got up and held his hand under me in case I fell of his should. I being my normal clumsy self fell into his palm with a thud. "Whats going on?" I asked rubbing my lower back from the fall into his hand. "Someone is trying to hack our systems" he said as he walked into the main room seeing Ratchet working hard at the computer to block the hackers. Ratchet was mumbling to himself as he always did when he got aggravated. "Ratchet where did the hack originate from?" he asked as I climbed onto his shoulder looking over towards Ratchet. "I just sent a trace to locate where it came from." He said still typing away at his computer. Suddenly a distress signal popped up on the screen. "Optimus, it's an auto-bot distress signal, but it is faint." Optimus looked around seeing that no else was there. He then turned back to Ratchet, "Open a ground bridge, im going to check it out." He turned looking at me, "You need to stay here with Ratchet. He may need your help medically." I looked at him, "No I want to go with you. I can help" I said protesting. He picked me up and sat me on the platform next to Ratchet's computer. "No Kairi, I have a feeling it is to dangerous for you to go." I just stared at him in shock. "You are still not fully healed yet. You can go out there by yourself!" I said as I started climbing down the stairs. "I have to if I can save a life." He quickly transformed and speed through the ground bridge before it closed.
I stopped where he had been standing a few tears filling my eyes. Something was wrong. He had never left me behind before. Did he know something I didn't? I turned and looked at Ratchet. "How could you just let him go like that!!!? You know he is still recovering!!" I screamed at him as anger pulsed through my veins. "Kairi, I could not have stopped him no more then you could have. That is the stubbornness of a Prime." He said with a heavy heart. He knew Optimus wasn't ready to go into battle. He feared for his friend as much as I did.
Meanwhile Optimus drove through the ground bridge and appeared in a large opening in the middle of a forest. He transformed and looked around trying to find the signal. He stepped forward and suddenly he became surrounded by helicopters and hummers with all kinds of weapons aimed at him. One of the helicopters had a megaphone on it and it sent a chill down his spine as he heard the voice speak to him. "Optimus Prime, I knew you wouldn't hesitate to help a fellow bot in distress. Only thing is you are the one in trouble now." He said with a smirk. Optimus looked around seeing no way of escape. "What do you want Silas?" he asked as anger built up inside him. "That is a very good question, and the answer is you." He said. Suddenly they shot electrical wires at him which sent electricity running through his systems knocking him to his knees. He looked up at Silas gritting his teeth. "You won't get away with this Silas" he said before they electrocuted him again. "I already have." He said with an evil laugh before Optimus passed out from the pain.
Back at base I paced the floor back and forth. Ratchet watched me curiously, "Kairi, you need to calm down." He said and all I did was look at him with worry in my eyes. "I can't calm down while he is out there by himself and who knows what could have happened to him." I said trying to hide the anger in my voice. Just then Jack and the others got back from their patrols. Jack walked over to me as did Miko and Raf since they saw I was pacing the floor. "Whats wrong Kairi?" Jack asked as he stood in front of me. "Optimus went to check out an auto-bot distress signal by himself." I said looking at him. He could tell I was very upset and worried. Suddenly a voice came over the com link that sent chills down my spine. "Hello my name is Silas and I have a proposition for you bots. I have captured your beloved leader Optimus Prime and if you wish to see him again in one piece you will do as I say." My heart dropped as I heard the words. Fear, anger, and a whole other list of emotions ran through me at once and my hands started glowing as well as my eyes. Jack saw me and wrapped his arms around me trying to calm me down. "You dare make so much as a scratch on his paint and I will peronsally show you what your insides look like!!" I yelled back at the com link. Everyone looked at me shocked of the words I used. "Ahh you must be the girl I saw with him recently. If you don't want him injured I suggest you shut your mouth!" he snapped back. I bit my lip so hard it started bleeding as energon slid down my lip. I didn't know what to do as I clenched my fists tightly. "Now that I have your attention, I wish to meet the rest of the bots. Meet me at the coordinates I sent you in two hours or you will never see your precious Prime again." The link was then disconnected and the whole room was silent. Everyone was in shock and feared for their leader's life. "What do we do?" I heard Bulkhead ask. I walked over to a wall and punched it leaving a huge dent as I tried to contain my anger. Beating up the base's walls wasn't helping Optimus and he needed me now. "We are going to get him back." I said with anger in my voice. Everyone looked at me, "How?" they asked in unison. "I am going to meet them, they will lead me to him." I said as I stormed out of the room to get my bag ready.
