"So, when's this party?" I ask as I cut myself another piece of pancake. We were in-between class hours; so Issac, Ariel, and I decided to go out and get some breakfast.

"Saturday. The 4th at sometime around 8 or 9." Issac answered quickly. He seemed to be the most excited. Ariel was excited to see Ariana and I think Issac was just happy to go to a party and see his friend Courtney.

Me? I'm not sure. I guess I was most into the idea of getting out of the house for something other than the gym and school.

"Sounds good." I shrugged.

"Y/n? Y/n Y/l/n?" I turned around, immediately recognizing those dark almond eyes.

lord help me now . . again

"Goddammit," I said under my breath while facing my best friends; wiping my face with a napkin and standing up.

"Hey, Chloe!" I gave my best fake smile and side-hugged her; even though she reached for a full one.

"Hi, Y/n! Wow, it's so nice to see you again." She tried to subtly check me out, but I saw it.

Chloe Mill. To keep things short; she's my ex. The 5'4, 25 year old brown-eyed woman caught my eye back in my sophomore year of Uni. We dated from there till the beginning of my senior year here. It was like almost 2 years.

It ended because she fucked my ex-best friend.

"Yeah. Um, what are you doing here?" I ask, looking down at her with hesitance. My heart was telling me to run out of here and crawl back into bed. However, my mind kept my feet planted to the ground.

"Oh, I just came with my family. I don't have class today. What are you doing here?" I looked around, trying to spot her family but failing to do so.

"I came with a couple friends." I said simply. She nodded, looking behind me at Issac and Ariel, then back to me.

"Who's the girl?" She asked, her head tilting as she looked up into my eyes.

"Chloe, what's this about? What do you want?" I got a little closer as my voice got quieter. She had light blonde hair with dark highlights, kind of like Avril Lavigne. Her rosy pink, full lips upturned; she was smirking.

"You know what I want, Y/nn. ." She whispered, getting close to my face. I could feel her breath on my lips.

no. do not fall under her trap.

"No, Chloe." I softly pushed her back. "You know it's not like that. Not anymore. I don't want you. Sorry." I was blunt and honest. I still had love for her, deep down. But I couldn't let her walk all over me.

not anymore

"It's like that?" Her voice was quiet— almost breathless. My straight face slowly turned into a glare.

"It's been like that. Goodbye."

I turned around before she could say anything else. I walked back to our booth quickly, seeing that my friends have already packed up our food to go.
