"Jaden, wake up," a voice said through my bedroom, and I stirred in my bed, feeling depression from my horrible day of school yesterday.
"Just ten more minutes," I said to the mystery person who was talking to me, and I tried to go back to sleep, feeling the world go black again.
"We don't have time!" the voice screamed and yanked my blanket away from me.
I sat up in my bed and stretched, and then I looked at the mystery person to see that it was my younger brother, Xavier, who was 16 and a sophomore in high school. I, on the other hand, was a senior about to graduate from the Hell-house that was called Fallington High School. I stood up from my bed, shooing my brother out my room, and he walked out my room, closing the door behind him.
"Why'd he have to wake me up?" I asked myself as I put some decent school clothes on and put on some socks. "It's only six in the morning. School doesn't start until eight."
Then I remembered why he woke me up so early. Today was the school's annual sophomore day where the sophomores get to inspect and watch the juniors' classes as they learn. Then, tomorrow will be freshman day, and then finally, Thursday will be junior day, which will be the worst day ever known in Fallington High history.
"Come on, Jaden!" Xavier yelled at me, and I tied the laces to my high tops and grabbed my backpack.
I ran down the stairs of our house and was about to walk out of the house.
"Bye, Mom!" I said to my mom, Harriet, happily.
Then, my mom took a glimpse of me before I walked out the door.
"Jaden Genevieve Furstenberg!" my mom yelled at me as I was about to walk out the door, removing my hand from the doorknob.
I turned around to look at her, and she walked over to me.
"What, mom?" I asked her as I looked at her.
"Look at your hair! It looks like a family of robins made a nest on your head! Now, go fix your hair!" she yelled at me, pointing up the stairs. "And brush your teeth as well!"
I rushed up the stairs and ran into the bathroom. I did the things as my mother told me to, and I rushed to the door.
"Bye, Mom!" I said and ran out the door, closing it behind me.
"Come on, Jaden!" Xavier yelled at me from the inside of my car, and I ran to my car, getting in the driver's seat. "We need to go now! I'm going to be late for Sophomore Day!"
"Oh, stuff in a sock!" I yelled to him as I started the car, still feeling a little tired. "Don't complain to me about being late!"
I pulled out of the driveway and drove off, following the traffic signals, stop signs, and speed limits.
Then, suddenly, as I was driving in the one-way road, a drunkard wasn't watching where he was going. I honked the horn to my car loudly, trying to get his attention, but he wouldn't listen to me. Next thing you know, he collided with us, and it felt like my legs had been split in two.
My brother held my hand as we passed out from the injuries and loss of blood.

I woke up in a stretcher, seeing the blurred world around me.
"What happened?" I groaned, trying to wake up from the pain in my lower body.
"You were in a car crash," the medic said to me, pulling me to the ambulance. "We're taking you to the hospital."
"Where's my brother?!!" I asked them fear, trying to sit up.
They looked at me with sad eyes, and then I figured out what they were saying.
He wasn't paralyzed in his lower body. He wasn't fighting a coma. He was passed on to the next life, or in other words, he was dead. I started crying, screaming as I realized this, and I put my hands over my face.
"No no no no no!!" I screamed, sniffling a lot and wiping the tears from my eyes. "You're lying to me!"
"We're sorry," the medic said, "We went to check him out, and he had no pulse. We're sorry for not coming in time to save him."
I sat there and still cried, feeling the cold tears stream down my burning cheeks. The medic placed his hand on my back and patted me gently.
This couldn't have happened! I thought to myself, and I kept crying loudly, feeling the pain in my heart. Xavier really wanted to go to Sophomore Day, but now he can't!
I laid back down in the stretcher and closed my eyes, trying to think this day was a nightmare that will never exist.
"God, help my brother please," I mumbled to myself before feeling the world become black around me once more.
