Chapter 5 - Time Limit

Unikitty's POV
I yawned as I got more cozy in bed.
I don't wanna get up. The bed's so nice and I'm so tired.
But I felt the serious urge to pee. I crawled off the bed and walked like a zombie to the toilet. I peed and took a good look at myself in the mirror.

I look horrible.

Suddenly, I noticed something that gave me mixed feelings. My belly already had a swelling.

What the? But it's just been a week since we came back from our honeymoon. I need to see Dr Fox.

Dr Fox's POV
"Dr Fox?" I heard a blurry voice say but it could just be part of my dream.
"Dr Fox?" The voice was getting louder but I still ignored it
"Dr Fox?!" The voice yelled and that woke me up.
I rubbed my eyes and saw Unikitty looking down at me.

She looked serious.

"We. Have. A. Problem!" She enunciated
"I can tell" I said " What's up?
"My stomach already has a swelling" She said and my eyes widened.
" That's impossible" I said and shook my head.
"See for yourself" She said and raised her shirt up slightly.

There was a really noticable swelling and suddenly I realized something.

"Well, normal people have their pregnancy last for nine months but you're not exactly normal" I calculated " So your pregnancy might be shorter than that"
" How short are we talking about?" She asked
" Approximately, 8 to 9 weeks?" I replied "Which means you and will have our baby around the same time"
" Two months?!" Unikitty exclaimed
She was clearly super stressed out.
"I can't convince Frownie with that little of a time. Dr Fox, isn't there a way I can hold it it in a little?"
" Unikitty, you know that's not how things work" I said
" What am I going to do?" She said
" There's really no need to stress out" I said, shrugging " I think you should tell him. I mean, if he really loves you, he'll understand and it is partially his doing"
" I can't do that to Frownie" She said
" But you can't lie to him either" I said "That's worse"
Unikitty sat down on my chair and frowned.

Babies are supposed to be a time for couples to come together but Unikitty's more stressed out than anyone I know.
And she's Unikitty!

"Maybe, you and Master Frown should go on a date" I suggested
"But I can't go on a date with this stomach" Unikitty retorted, crossing her arms.
" Don't worry, I've got clothes you can wear that can hide that" I said " And besides, if you don't go on a date with him for another week, he'll start getting suspicious"
" Okay, I'll call him now" Unikitty said, her face still saddened.
"Oh and Unikitty?" I called out as she was about to leave.
"Yeah?" She said, turning back
"Smile" I said and flashed her a smile.
"Yeah, okay" She said, giggling.

As soon as she left, I went to my computer.

Don't worry, Unikitty. I'm gonna help you tell Master Frown.

Master Pain's POV
I sat up in my bed as an amazing aroma hit my nose.

Where is that coming from?

I got out of my bed and walked down the stairs, the smell getting stronger.

I followed the scent into the kitchen and met my best friend there, cooking and frying and baking at the same time.

"Matthew?" I exclaimed, a bit surprised"What are you doing in my kitchen?"
"Oh, you're awake" He said, smiling at me " I wanted to surprise you with a breakfast-in-bed but I guess I'm not the most silent cook"
" Why?" I asked, still standing at the kitchen doorway.
"Can't I do something nice for my best...?" He started, his eyes trailing down to my feet "... friend. Nice PJ's"

It was then I realized that I only had on a big but short shirt over my underwear.
I blushed lightly and glared at him as I sat down at the counter. I took a muffin from the stack and bit into it.
"Woah" I said and I wasn't lying. The muffins were fantastic.
"Does that mean you like them?" He said and I realized that he was done with cooking and was sitting across the counter, facing me, his head bent to the side slightly.

It was kinda cute.

"When did you get this good?" I said, finishing up the muffin and taking another.
" Just like you put your spare time into painting, I put mine into cooking" He said.
" Hmmm" was all I said
" Now, when you're done with breakfast, get dressed. I'm taking you somewhere" He said, pushing himself off the chair
" Where?" I asked
"Hurry up and you'll find out" he said "Oh and, Happy Birthday"

The muffin fell from my hand.

He remembered. It's been a while since someone remembered my birthday.

I could feel a smile spread across my face.
"Um, Matthew?" I called out but he wasn't there.
