Kagome had watched through the day as the men built shelters, by the way they were dressed she could see she wasn't in her time, but she was further in the future than the Feudal Era. She would have said late 1800s to early 1900s is when she was, but she couldn't be one-hundred percent sure.
Neither of those times was welcoming to those who weren't the same race. She knew the people spoke English, so she would assume they were adventurers from England going out to find things in the 'new world'. She wasn't totally sure though, so she would have to keep watching to see.
'Though, I may try to escape sooner rather than later and just figure it out by sneaking around and gathering intel. I don't want to be stuck in this cage any longer than I have to..' She thought as she glanced around. Her head snapped up hearing whispers and the feeling of people close by.
Tilting her head she looked into the woods and saw shadows of figures going through the woods silently. Her blue eyes narrowed as she adjusted her body so she could keep watch but make it look like she wasn't looking for something by her captors.
Kagome looked closely into the forest and could see the figures better now, and blinked, 'Native Americans?'
She didn't let anyone see she was looking at the inquisitive newcomers. She had a feeling they were just curious about who was on their lands. She wouldn't blame them, they didn't know if they were friends or foe. Kagome knew these people who kept her would-be foe to them...they were calling her savage...and she had a feeling they would call the Native Americans the same.
Kagome saw that they were only watching, and kept her eyes downcast as she saw someone come close to her 'cage' he said something to her, but Kagome was tuning him out. Not even a few seconds later she heard movement behind her and then all hell broke loose.
"Savages!" A voice yelled out, then all Kagome saw was a flurry of movements and the sound of gunfire. Kagome winced hearing the loud noises, her eyes tracking the movements. She heard a cry of pain, and yelling. .
Her eyes caught one of the natives, as he crouched down next to his injured friend, before concentrating on the man. He shouted out orders before another man with what looked like a bear mark on his chest came closer and the group was retreating.
Worry went through her as she watched them retreat. One was hit with a bullet. If they didn't know how to treat it, the man that was hit was going to die. She felt sadness well up in her as she heard the cheers of the white men in the camp.
As the cheers quieted down, she heard muttered then the loud voice of the man Kagome knew was in charge. She tensed as she saw a couple of figures coming to her 'cage'.
"It looks like your friends didn't get to save you...." The taunting voice made her narrow her eyes. They were mistaking the natives as her people....they didn't look alike...how can they mistake the two ethnicities up....
Kagome just held a glare at the man, who spit at the ground, "Good riddance. Maybe we should put your head on a spike to warn them not to come here." The man growled, before turning around.
"Make sure there are eyes on her at all times. Her friends will most likely be back...." A malicious grin came to his face, making the hairs on Kagome's arms stand on end, "....make sure to give them a...warm...welcome when they do."
Laughter could be heard around and then Kagome was left alone, the feeling of annoyance clear as she would now have a harder time escaping.
