Cindy / Lily
1301 Words

Cindy knew exactly what she was at this point: a bad bitch.

Perhaps it was the only thing that she knew. That, and boys. They all naturally flocked to her, and Cindy could easily choose anyone she wanted with no effort.

Just a kind look at a boy would make him gravitate towards her, and make him wrap himself around her finger. At school, Cindy had everything she wanted. Her home life was still garbage, but who needed supportive parents when you could be the it girl of the whole school?

Well, Cindy had everything, except Lily. No one had annoyed her more than Lily, and she couldn't even place her finger on why.

She went to all the basketball games that Cindy cheered at. Even then, she didn't even watch her brother play; she just looked at the clock behind the bleachers, like she was just daydreaming. Seriously? Just go home, and free up a seat. They had nearly identical schedules, so Cindy always saw her every moment of the day. Everywhere she went, Lily was always there too.

Right when she had thought the breach had stopped, Cindy had started to notice her friend squad flocking over to Lily, wanting her to explain more about her mythical fantasies.

Cindy really didn't have a choice anymore; she had to see what was so special about Lily. Who even was she? Where did she come from and what did she do to get the entire school to love her? She wasn't funny. Or pretty.

Except, maybe she was.

Maybe Cindy was looking at her in a different way than before, or maybe she was just focused on other things, like the sudden departure of her friends.

When the lunch bell rang the next day, Cindy walked over to where Lily was sitting with all of her (stolen) friends, and sat down next to the smaller girl. Lily looked at her and smiled innocently. She was almost too friendly; it made Cindy scream internally.

"Hey!" She greeted her, "I'm Lily. I think I've seen you around."

Cindy plastered a smile on her face, she probably looked fake, but she didn't have intentions to be too nice.

"Yeah. I know who you are. It's Cindy. You're kinda stealing my thunder at this school."

Lily had the most disappointed look on her face, and Cindy can't help but feel a little bad.

"Huh? What do you mean?"

"Don't play dumb with me. You can be as nice as you want to them, but it won't last. Once they're not interested in your monster stories anymore they'll come back to someone."

She takes the time to give Lily a particularly taunting look, although she wasn't sure exactly why she did so.

"Me. They'll come back to me, and you'll have to deal with being the groupie for your brother's friends."

Cindy turned and walked away, not bothering to look at Lily's probably distraught reaction.

With her proper "introduction" into play, Cindy exited the cafeteria. Even though Lily was cuter than any boy she had been with, she was never going to let her find out about her growing fascination.
