My ears started ringing as the brightness illuminating my eyes when I opened them, forcing me to shut my eyes close again. I moved my fingers, realizing that I have gained my consciousness back. The same sharp pain on my head slammed me like a struck of a lightning. Inhaling deeply as I flutter my eyes open, adapting myself into the sudden brightness as I squint my eyes, looking at the unfamiliar decorated ceiling with gorgeous artistic paintings on it.

Realization hit me right across my face, causing me to dart into a sitting position. Where am I? Why am I here? Numerous questions starts appearing inside my thoughts from one into another. My eyebrows furrowed as I tried on recalling what happened earlier. I mentally slapped myself, of course, it was Thamuz's doing earlier.

My sight caught a figure of a man standing infront of me. I can't tell whether I know him or not. His stare was sharp and cold, unsettling me which led my muscles tensed on my spot. Judging from his attire, showing a high status by looks and his intimidating aura. He deliberately looked away for awhile as he spoke, "You were taken by that leader of the fire demons." The tone of his voice is surprisingly gentle, no hint of annoyance at all.

However, I shamefully avoided his eye contact. I just did one of the most dumb decisions in my life, especially bringing someone into being involved in this matter. I can't believe that this person saved my life. Where did all the of the skills I gained from training regularly went? This is unbelievably embarassing, the perfect moment for myself to disappear, although sadly, it obviously can't happen.

The door opened and there stood the person I have known for some time — Gusion holding a glass of water. "Here," he mumbled as he handed the glass to me. I stared at his face for an awfully long time, he seemed to avoid my eyes as he kept his vision onto the ground. "Thank you," I responded, which made him lift his head up to look at me. Our eyes met for a moment before I looked away, still ashamed of my stupidity and the fact that I just got saved.

Aside from that fact, I will spend my last days under the hands of Thamuz in the abyss with the torture from the flames of hell, if they didn't take me back and rescued me on time.

"How did Thamuz broke into your house?" Gusion broke the brief silence. "I can't remember," I shook my head. At the meantime, only myself and I know the truth. "You should build tall metal fences," he jested. That is the same Gusion I know, nothing has changed from him despite of not meeting him in months.  The same joking tone I used to hear in the past, somehow causing me to look back on those times when he used to pay a visit.

"Actually, I think I really have to," I remarked, thinking that it is a truthfully great idea. If I have enough money and courage to built new strong fences, I will follow his words for sure.

The silence made me avert my attention from Gusion, taking a glimpse of his brother standing quietly near the other side of the bed. He was focused onto the window infront of him, not sparing a single glance even to Gusion, seemingly to be in his thoughts at the moment. Two different atmospheres are created whenever I see the two brothers, Gusion is seemingly warm and friendly, while his brother is in his own world and giving out an aloof aura from his side.

Based on my knowledge, Gusion did told stories regarding his brothers. It didn't take me a second thought to determine the silver haired man standing nearby is his brother, although the obvious different hair colour might have been unrecognizable for them to be siblings. Including his attire on what I have perceived, he must have been his brother.

Gusion and I shared a look before I encouraged myself to speak, "Thank you for saving me." His brother turned his back against the window, facing me with a stern expression. "How should I repay you?" A hint of hesitance in my voice made myself grew smaller between their existence.

"You don't have too," his brother approached the door casually, after exchanging glances with me. His gaze soften for the moment he looked at me, I didn't know how to react until he made his way outside from the room. The sound of a thud from the door closed behind him, leaving Gusion and I alone in the room. The tension being lifted away from my shoulders when the suffocating air has left the room, still I chose not to show my stiffness towards Gusion. I don't want to make it as an obvious negative impression to his brother.

"Gusion," I called out his name. "Is he your brother?" I inquired, reassuring my own thoughts. He looked at me for a thoughtful moment, as if he was hesitant to answer. "He is the eldest from all of us, Aamon the duke of Paxley," he briefly answered.

My mouth slightly gaped in surprise. "The duke?" I ensured myself. I swear that my blood has run cold as soon as Gusion replied me with a nod in confirmation, observing my evident facial expressions.

"Specifically, he was the one who saved you. I saw you when you were unconscious in his arms, I couldn't forget how his hair turned into a darker shade from the dust," he suddenly snorted after a brief silence of his explanation, earning a raised eyebrow from me. "What has come into your mind?," I was genuinely confused on his change of demeanor.

"Nah nothing, just the shocked look on your face," a cheeky smile formed on his face as head towards the door. "Wait! Whose room is this?" I blurted out as I stopped his tracks.

"Aamon's," another brief response coming out from his mouth, which led me jumping out from the bed. I swear I could have exit from this room earlier after knowing the truth.

"Don't you have guest rooms?" I scoffed, still astounded by his statement. "I want to go home," before I even had the urge to escape, he dashed his way infront of me. "You can head back when its morning. Plus, if you leave without my brother knowing, I will be the victim of his scolding."

I laughed, "Fine." With both his hands on his hips, he laughed along with me. "Good, now let's go!" Gusion exclaimed as he raised his arms above his head. "Where-" Before I could complain and finish my sentence, he pulled me by my hand and drag me further inside the room. "Go back to sleep, its literally two a.m," he pointed at a wall clock as I shook my head in disbelief.

"I'll take the guest room," I demanded him. "You can ask my brother instead," Gusion chuckled at my stern visage. "He will be back."

As if on cue, the door opened again, revealing the elder brother heading inside the room. He didn't spare even the slightest glance at me, he looked at Gusion instead as he approached us. "Brother, I'll head back to my room for a doze. Bye-bye," Gusion flashed a smile at me before heading towards the exit. "How dare you," I whispered audible for Gusion to hear before he took another glance at me, enough to vex me upon his cheeky actions.

Gusion left me alone with his brother that I don't even know other than his name and his status as the duke of Paxley, nothing else I know of him. His eyes was fixated at his younger brother before the door clicked close.

I hope myself for the best, wishing to escape from this suffocating and the tension against again.
