When you and y/s/n wake up, your mom tells you that your school district called to cancel school because of the large amount of snowfall last night.

"Yes! A snow day! Let's make a snowman y/n!" y/s/n shouts and you smile at their excitement. You are happy too, but you feel that you're a little too old to be playing in the snow.

"You should eat breakfast first," your mom suggests, but y/s/n is already putting on their boots.

"Aww!" y/s/n whines and takes their boots out. You and your mom laugh and they scowl at you both.

"You can make a snowman after breakfast." Your mom gives you and y/s/n each a plate of scrambled eggs and fruit.

After you both finish eating you see that you got a text from f/n asking if you want to hang out with them.

You reply "sure. is it fine if I bring y/s/n?" because you know y/s/n will want to come. They reply "of course!" and you tell y/s/n and your mom that you two are going to your friends house.

"Alright bye, have fun! And be careful driving out there!" your mom says before you and y/s/n leave.

"Bye!" you and y/s/n call as you're walking out the door. You both get in your car and you drive to your friends house.

F/n is waiting outside when you get to their house. "Hey guys!"

"Hi." you and y/s/n say at the same time.

"I heard there's some people from school hanging out at the park. Do you two want to go there?" f/n asks.

"Sure," you say. "Yeah!" y/s/n exclaims.

"I can drive you both there," you say. They get in your car and you get to the park about twenty minutes later and sure enough there are a lot of students hanging around there.

Y/s/n gets out of your car first and runs over to a group of students making snowmen.

F/n and you walk around, trying to decide what to do. "Hey guys!" someone says to you and f/n. "want to join a snowball fight?"

"Sure," f/n replies and you nod. So much for thinking you were too old to play in the snow. You both follow the kid to a group of students who are going to have a snowball fight. You see y/s/n and call them over to join it too.

Once there is enough people to play, the fight begins. Y/s/n, f/n and you start throwing snowballs at each other, but then you all start throwing them at other people.

You spot c/n and feel your face heat up, even though it's pretty cold outside. A snowball hits your arm while you are looking at them. You turn and see y/s/n sticking their tongue out at you.  You frown at them, but don't throw the snowball in your hand at them. Instead you throw it at c/n.

It hits their jacket and you grin. C/n turn towards you and realizes that you threw it at them because you are still grinning. They smirk at you and start making a snowball. Seeing them looking at you distracts you enough that you aren't paying attention  and suddenly a snowball hits you straight in the face before you can realize that they have  thrown one at you.

You step back and feel a sharp, cold pain in your face from where the snowball hit you. You bring one hand to your face to try to cease the pain. "Y/n, are you okay?" f/n asks and you nod while brushing the remaining snow off of your face.

Y/s/n comes over to you. "Why didn't you duck, y/n? Couldn't you see the snowball coming at you?"

"I just..." you start, but realize you have no explanation.

"Don't lie y/n!" y/s/n says loudly and you shush them. "I saw you looking at that person."

"I-I wasn't looking at anyone."

"You weren't?" you hear a familiar  voice say and you know it's c/n before you look. "Are you alright y/n?" they ask.

"Um...yeah. My face is just a little cold." But as you say that your face starts to warm up and you see y/s/n rolling their eyes at you.

"Do you want to come to my house? I live really close." c/n asks you. Too stunned to speak; you nod.

C/n takes your arm, and you feel yourself blushing again. They lead  you to their house that is just across the street from the park. They unlock the front door with their keys and step inside after you. "Do you want anything to drink?"

"Yeah," you say.

"Okay," they bring you into the kitchen, "Is hot cocoa fine?"

"Yeah," you reply once again.

They smile and you watch as they get two packets of hot cocoa mix from the pantry and put it, along with water, into cups. They put one cup into the microwave and when the microwave beeps they give the cup to you. "Here, y/n. You get the first one."

"Thanks," you say then take a sip of the hot cocoa, but it's too hot and burns your tongue. You quickly pull away from the cocoa and stick out your tongue.

C/n smirks. "There's a reason it's called hot cocoa." Then they take the other cup out of the microwave when it's finished and sit down next to you.

You and c/n enjoy your hot cocoa as the other students play in the snow. Watching them play in the snow without you doesn't bother you though, because you're spending time with c/n. There's nothing else you'd rather be doing right now.
