(A/N: I just really wanted to thank @lollipop_coffei for helping me with this story so much! They have been a great source of ideas and potential killing, motives, and stuff for when I'm stuck. Again, thank you soooooooooooooooooooo muchhhhh!)
The monitor turned on, and Monokuma appeared with a glass of wine in his hands.
"This is a school announcement! It is now 7 am, and nighttime is officially over! Rise and shine! I hope you all have a despairful day!"
So I'll never be sleeping again, I thought.
Restless sleep is one thing, but nightmares like that are a whole other thing. I won't be able to fall asleep, even though I really do treasure it.
I sighed and got up to brush my teeth. At least Monokuma didn't take my stuff.
Thinking about what Yoki had said about relationships before, I left my room and started walking to the dining hall for breakfast. Maybe the person I had in mind for talking to today would be there.
And just as I thought, she was.
"Heyy, Kirigiri! Did you sleep well?" Tanoshi exclaimed.
"I feel like I didn't sleep at all," I replied, yawning.
"You're not the only one. I didn't sleep a wink last night. So I ended up giving up on it and listened to some music," Kawazoe told us.
"Wait, how were you able to do that?" Tanoshi asked, excited.
"I don't know how, it just happened. Call Monokuma if you want answers." Kawzoe grumpily told us. So xey weren't in the mood for talking. Got it. It wasn't like I was going to talk to xem, anyway. We were both too tired to deal with each other at the moment.
"Carter is cooking breakfast for us since she's the only one with some cooking experience," Tanoshi smiled. Does this girl just have infinite energy? How is she so happy?
"Wait, isn't Carter the ultimate baker?" I asked.
"That doesn't mean she can't cook," Kirigiri-sensei walked into the room.
"I still didn't expect her to do that for us. She doesn't seem like the type to think for other people."
"Ouch." Carter came out of the kitchen with a few plates full of pancakes. She was glaring at me. Hard. "Anyways, look what I found." She held up a coin that had Monokuma's face on it.
Then Monokuma just appeared. Out of thin air. Where's the logic behind that? What's next, can he magically spawn a whole parkour map? Can he turn off all the lights in Japan? Can he create a dent in the moon? Where are his boundaries?
"That is a Monocoin! You'll find a lot of them if you actually try and look for them. On the third floor, I've opened up the gift shop room, where you can use your Monocoins for little toys and stuff. Also if it's 11 pm and you're really thirsty, you can buy water there. Most people like water..." Monokuma left.
"...I would really appreciate it if you would warn us when you pop out of nowhere!" Tanoshi yelled to the camera in the corner of the dining hall. She's got a point. I had a mini-heart attack when that ying-yang bear came.
"Does he do that a lot?" I asked Kirigiri-sensei.
"Do what?"
"Pop up out of nowhere."
"All the time. Every step you take is a 'Monokuma saying hello' hazard. It gets annoying because you get reminded that you're being watched 24/7."
