I guess I had fallen asleep, because the next thing I knew, I was awoken by someone yelping and a dull thud, like something heavy being thrown on a wooden floor. There was a moment of silence, then,
"...Sarah?"
"James?"
"Why are you in my room?"
"Because Henri shoved me in here," I replied, emphasizing Henri's name since I was pretty sure he was standing outside the door listening to us. James sat up and looked at me, obviously irritated.
"He actually pushed me in here!" He exclaimed, rubbing his back. I could have sworn I heard a faint snickering coming from the other side of the door, followed by a definite: "What?! I'm not doing anything, Moses!"
James and I exchanged equally livid expressions at Henri's "innocence." I knew that the same desperate idea was crossing both of our minds at the moment. The idea: Scream and yell for help in the hope that someone in the house would hear us and let us out!
"Henri! Let us out!" I yelled, banging on the door, hoping that the prankster would (for once) understand how angry I was and obey me. The little imp giggled, and I could clearly imagine the victorious smirk that was finding its way onto his face.
"Nope! I'm not letting you go until you talk!" came the sing-songy reply.
"What?" I asked, bewildered. "James and I talk all the time!"
"You both have something on your minds. It's obvious. You need to actually ta-a-alk." Henri replied matter-of-factly, playfully drawing out the "a" sound in "talk."
Still confused, I glanced over at James, who had been surprisingly quiet throughout this whole ordeal, especially considering that he was usually the brash (and quite annoying!) one out of us three kids. What I saw when I looked over at him surprised me... Was he blushing?
A/N: Obviously, my writer's block is gone! Yaaaay! *throws party* *eats multiple cupcakes* *fails at doing the worm*
So sorry for not updating in quite a while. I honestly have no excuses. I just had no idea what direction I wanted this story to go in, but I finally have some great ideas and a brain full of stories!
