Diary Of A Fresher (Nigerian Edition)

Day 1 13/1/2022

Dear Diary
Today was literally a mix of emotions, I could barely sleep last night as I was so excited to go to the university I woke up so early as at 4:00 am I had flown out of bed straight to the bathroom my bags have been packed for like a month now. When I was done dressing up my mum was just waking up I wanted to get to school really early cause I received information that the hostels where almost full and that I might have to get into a little hustle to get a room.

Eventually around 5:30 I left my house with my mum, dad and younger brother I was super excited but also madly anxious I was trying to stay calm to avoid anxiety headache which I have often my mum started her pep talk from my house till we got to ikeja 😂 but I found truth in everything she was saying tho.

I later slept off and woke up at the school gate when I was asked to get down to sign in at the gate house I did and walked to the car park to meet my parents from there we went to the amphitheatre where a series of test where conducted, urine test, blood test, covid test, and I got an immunization injection for tetanus.

The forms I filled before getting the test alone sef was annoying. After the injection I waited a little for the result. They all came out negative then I was cleared to proceed to my hall of residence that is crystal hall.

My parents weren't allowed to follow me to my hall so they just loaded my stuffs to a tricycle that carried everything for #1000 plus me. I thought my parents where going to wait a little for me but they couldn't so they left.

I got to my hall then filled a form then dropped  some documents then I was given a room. I went to drag myself and my luggages cause my room was top floor omo I wanted to cry😭 cause my stuffs where plenty I later got a helper that helped with my load I payed her #1000 then went to my room found a bed then I had to go get food.

The meal wasn't so bad the school is a seventh day adventist school so no animal flesh so I had Tofu with eba and egusi it wasn't so bad actually. After my meal I went to unpack my bag. Ouu before unpacking I got my meal ticket when I went to get lunch.

After unpacking i went to find one of my class mates then we went to the school mall to meet her parents then I bought 17 Masks for #2000😭 they told me things where expensive I didn't think it was this bad. After that I went to rest then went to get dinner my dinner was take away so I just ate in my hostel then had my bath and I am about to sleep.

Today was stressful in general the form filling and all, tomorrow I want to go for Registration.
