George was born without eyes. Surely a very strange condition to have, but to George, it was just a thing he dealt with every day. Maybe the occasional bumping into walls might have been annoying at first, but after a while he got used to it. Over the years, George just kind of stumbled through life keeping his head down and not trying to attract a lot of attention.

By the time he got to Sophomore year of high school, he was sure he was going to stay single forever, but then along came Dream...Clay Block, aka Dream. One of the least popular kids in the school, even though he was captain of the football team. You know the reason why? Clay Block was gay, and one of the only LGBTQ+ members in the whole school. You know who was also bisexual? George. They were pretty much a perfect match ever since Dream first asked out George.

That was 5 years ago, and now they were in their Junior year of college and Dream and George were still a very happy couple. Even though they had been together for a long time, George still felt bad that he couldn't see his boyfriend. He felt like he couldn't be the best partner he could be without eyes to see the love of his life. The longer they stayed together, the more it killed George on the inside knowing that he would probably never get to see his boyfriend because he couldn't afford to get an eye donation.

While George was lost in his insecurities, Dream wasn't doing any better. Their 5 year anniversary was coming up in almost a month and Dream wanted to do something special for his boyfriend. While thinking about what he could possibly do for the love of his life, he had the best idea he probably had in his life. He knew that it would affect his life somewhat negatively, but he didn't care. If it was for George, the man he loved most in this world, then he would do anything. A few phone calls later, and the plans were in place. He would give the news to George a week ahead of time so that he could have time to prepare himself and it would happen on the actual day of their anniversary. This was it. The plans were set in stone. There was no going back now. George was going to get an eye donation.

It was now the day of their anniversary and George's surgery. For the whole day, both boys were nervous. Dream was worried that something would go wrong during surgery, and George was just excited that he would finally be able to see the world for the first time. One way that George managed the nerves was by asking Dream all kinds of questions on the drive there.

"So how does the surgery work?"

"I don't know but I'm sure that you can ask one of the doctors there."

"So how when you are in surgery you don't feel anything?"

"They put a mask on your face that has a chemical that puts you to sleep and nums you."

"Who donated? Do you know?"

With this question Dream froze up, not knowing how to tell his boyfriend, so instead he came up with a little lie.

"I think they chose to remain anonymous."

"Oh. I wish I knew who they were so that I could thank them."

With this remark, Dream's heart was bursting at the seams with love for his partner and all of his wholesome comments. Before long, the boys got to the clinic where the surgery was happening. They walked in, got signed in, and sat down to wait for George's name to be called. While they were in the waiting room, Dream took every moment he could to look at George. He admired everything about George. His jawline, his high cheekbones, his longish hair that surrounded his head and half covered his ears. He loved everything about the boy that sat next to him. Before long, George could sense Dream staring at him.

"You know just because I'm blind doesn't mean that I can't tell that you're staring at me." George said sassily.

"I know, it's just that you are so pretty and it's hard to NOT stare at you."

"You're such a flirt!"

"I know." Dream said lovingly.

After what seemed like an eternity, George's name was finally called and they got a chance to say some temporary goodbyes before he went into surgery.

"Ok George, it's almost time for you to start preparing for surgery. If you would like to say some goodbyes then you have about 10 minutes."

Without a word, George nodded in the direction of where he heard the receptionist's voice and turned around to give Dream a big hug. Before George could stop himself, all of his insecurities about the surgery started coming out of his mouth faster than his mouth could make words.

"What if something happens during surgery and I don't make it? What if the world doesn't look like what i expect? What if the anestesia stops working and I wake up and feel everything?" George rambles.

"George, shhh... it's going to be ok. These people are professionals, I promise they won't let anything bad happen to you."

They stand in each other's arms for a little while until the receptionist comes back and tells them that it's time for George's surgery. As George is led away, Dream looks down the hall at his boyfriend going off to a different room. One thing that the other didn't know, is that that would be the last time that Clay Block would see his boyfriend.

_____________________________________________________________________________

It was the next day, and George was on his bed recovering from the anesthesia with a nap. Dream was sitting on a chair next to George's bed listening to his partner's soft pattern of breathing. After a little while, George finally wakes up and notices that the world doesn't look black anymore. He looks around until his eyes lock onto Dream sitting next to him.

" I know I'm going to sound silly but who are you?" George asked.

"George, I'm your boyfriend, Dream. Remember?" Dream responded, remembering that the doctor said that some small memory loss can occur.

For a moment, George just sat there silently in shock. His boyfriend was sitting next to him, and he could see him. 'Wait, why does he have bandages on his eyes?' George thought. After a little bit of the both of them sitting in silence, Dream finally asked,

"George, did you hear me?"

"I- yes I heard you it's just... why do you have bandages covering your eyes?"

This is the question Dream had been both dreading and excited for.

"... Remember in the car ride when you asked who donated you the eyes?"

"Yea..."

"Well... I was the one that donated." Dream said, his heart breaking a little bit knowing that he will never be able to see his boyfriend again.

Once again, the room fell into silence as both boys were in shock at what had just happened. George broke the silence by pulling Dream into the biggest hug he could give.

"I don't understand why you would do such a thing? You could have kept your eyes. We could have found another donor. We could ha-" George was cut off with Dream's comforting voice.

"I did it for you George. I did it because It broke my heart knowing that if I didn't do this then you would probably never see the world. Never see ME."

George, still in shock, did the only thing he could without breaking down in sobs at how selfless his boyfriend was. He broke away the hug and kissed the love of his life.

From this moment on, both of them knew that they loved the other more than anything in this world and would do anything for their partner. At that very moment, they both knew that they were going to be together forever. This was no high school crush that was over and done within 2 months. No. This was a bond that wouldn't break until the end of time. And sitting in that brightly lit hospital room, they both knew that this is the person for them.
