It was a chilly Halloween night and dark enveloped the small neighborhood in Dowagiac. And Alec Wallace, a 12 year old child in the neighborhood was getting ready with his friend for Halloween. He wore a ghost costume and his friend named Annie jade, just wore normal Victorian clothes. Everyone thought that she was weird, Alec's friend but she was just an ordinary 12 year-old girl. Well maybe.. She was really pale, almost see through type pale. She had these red/black type dark circles under her eyes and she wore her beautiful black hair in two neat braids. Her hair was like beautiful fine silk like it was crafted by the gods. Suddenly Alec's mom spoke “Alright you..two it's time to go trick or treating now go before the neighborhood turns into a literal dark cave. I'll be waiting for you when you get back alright?”. “Alright Alec's mom..” Annie spoke, her voice sounded.. Dull, almost lifeless. You would think she wasn't alive but that couldn't be true could it. As Alec’s mom took a picture of Annie and Alec’s costumes she had this concerned look on her face almost like she had just seen a ghost.
They finally walked off getting weird stares from his neighbors as he and Annie went door to door saying trick or treat like it's nobody's business. Candy coloured as the rainbow piled up in their little pumpkin buckets. Sooner enough it was raining cats and dogs and the sad part, they forgot the umbrellas that Alec's mom told them to take. They ran like the wind and bolted to the house. When they got there, all winded of course, Alec saw his mom talking to some random man in a white coat. He assumed that it was some creepy old trick or treater. Maybe a pedophile but he couldn't care less. Suddenly his mom turned toward him with a look of concern and then the man behind her came out. Alec was shocked. Why would his mom do this to him? And why did he need it? There was nothing wrong with him. Or so he thought. You might be wondering who the person behind his mom was, what did he do and why I said what I said. Well to answer three of your questions. One the person behind his mom was a therapist and two well he was obviously a therapist but not just any therapist he was a specialist. For people with mental problems that could be dangerous, to everyone. Well  continuing on with the story. He asked why he needed mental  help pactically balling. His mom thought he was crazy. Then his mom showed him the picture that she took earlier. He expected to see a normal photo of him and Annie in their costumes. Right? But what he saw shocked him to no end. Annie, his best friend wasn't there, she wasn't in the picture..LIke she just went poof! He quickly turned to  ask her why, but she wasn't there. He ran away crying. Where did Annie go, why wasn't she in the picture and most importantly why did his mom think he was insane he wasn't was he? He soon forgot all sense of direction and was running in random places. If his mom was chasing after him it would have been a wild goose chase. He ran and ran and ran then suddenly thump! He hit the ground. Though he wasn't quite sure if it was actually the ground it felt like he had just been hit with 1,000 bricks. It felt like an eternity before he was able to get up but when he did he ran faster than the flash. He lost sense of where he was going, all he knew was that he had to get away. Soon he hit the great oak tree on the hill boom! He quickly recovered and when he looked to his side he saw bones. Human bones. They were placed in the form of a child. Then he saw it, the necklace that Annie always wore. It was a rusted over golden heart lock with a picture of her and a woman. He assumed it was her dead mom. Annie had said that her mom was dead. Or that's how he knew it was, Annie said she lost her mom because she ran away and when she came back home she couldn't find her anywhere and she was still looking. And she had said that she had to have been looking for centuries. He was so shocked he didn't even realize he was crying. He understood now, they couldn't see Annie because she was dead. There had been a couple hundred reports of kids going missing around the great oak tree. And one of the few had been for a child named Annie Jade, turns out soon after this report had been made Annie's mom had been found deceased due to a heart failure. Suddenly he heard screaming, it sounded like his mom and she was screaming “Alec!?” over and over again. Then he saw his mom and a police officer. She sighed a breath of relief and ran towards him calling her eyes out. Then she saw the bones, she screamed terrified. The cop soon caught up and quickly identified the bones and thanked me for finding them. That they had been searching for 13 years to find her remains so they could give her a proper burial. It's been 10 years since I had to experience this and I'm now 22 years old. So Annie got her proper burial and we attended. I remember not coming out of my room for a week. But when I did I had therapy for 3 days a week which was stressful but it helped.

(A/N) this is shit so sorry lol
