Chapter 1: Under the Surface

"Oh My God, It's her"

"She's so perfect, that's why I love her"

" She's so pretty"

"Kim Yoohyeon!!!! OMG"

People are shouting, excited to be seeing their idol. Desperately trying to be noticed by her.While the bodyguards try their hardest to keep them away from her personal space. She just smiles and continues walking inside the building.This is how it's been ever since a video of her singing at the train station went viral, it was the start of her blossoming career.

"Ms. Kim right this way" A kind lady says pointing to a private waiting room.
"Thank you" She says quietly as she walks in closing the door behind her. She puts her bags down and slouches her back on the couch but as soon as she does. A knock is heard at the door.

Quickly sitting up straight, she lets them in."Ms. Kim your make-up team is here"
She nods and let's them do their job.After a couple of minutes they finished, Yoohyeon takes a deep breath and puts on a smile.

Here we go

"Today's special guest is a very popular singer these days" The Emcee starts off.

"We are so pleased to have her here today, give it up for Kim Yoohyeon!!"

The host and audience claps and turn to where the artist will walk in.

Yoohyeon enters the room, with everyone eyes on her every step.Taking a seat on the stage as interview begins.

" So Ms. Kim Yoohyeon, your new song 'Highlights' has reached 2nd on Korean music charts, what are you thoughts on this achievement" Yoohyeon has already been asked this question many times, it's not like this is the first time her song was on the music charts.

" I'm always and forever grateful towards my fans and everyone who supports my music.it's because of them that my song reached the charts.

The host smile and the Interview continued no different then the others, They would ask her questions about her song and she would happily answer.It was until the second emcee spoke that things went south.

" Before you go Yoohyeon, I just wanted to comment on your career."

Did he just call me by my name?

Yoohyeon not wanting to seem rude, nodded for him to proceed.

"I am surprised of you — You have a very successful career for a GIRL. I mean their has to be a MAN writing your songs for them to be this popular" The Audience went quiet following his statement.
No believing what had just came out of his mouth.

Of course his words made Yoohyeon uncomfortable and insecure.but as the professional she is. Yoohyeon took the mic.

She was gathering her confidence when the other host spoke.

"My Deepest apologies Ms. Kim I don't know what Mr.Park here was thinking I-

" No worries, as for Mr. Parks's comment—No my songs are not written by any man but rather by my team and I "

Mr. Park smirked but before he could open his mouth and speak again.Yoohyeon interrupted.

"And to make it clear, My team consists of talented WOMEN "

Yoohyeon wasn't expecting the interview to go the way it did. She was supposed to go back to her waiting room and get her stuff but All she wants to do now is get home and hide herself in her room.Yoohyeon called her manger, asking if they could get her stuff to the car.The ride home was quick, she got out of the car and bid her goodbye to her manger.

Yoohyeon entered her house, her father who was in the living room welcomed her.(yes she still lives with them, they are her motivation and she isn't ready to leave them yet)
He smiled and helped her with her stuff.

"How was your interview, yoo? Are you hungry i made some kimchi"

"I'm not hungry appa, but thanks. I'm going to my room now"

Her father frown as he watched her walk up the stairs, he knew something was wrong.Yoohyeon never says no to Kimchi especially after a busy day.

Yoohyeon walked into her closet and picked out some comfortable clothes.After that she flopped herself onto her bed. She just laid their staring at the ceiling.

I'm tried of it, I really am.

However her thoughts were cut short, with the ringing of her phone.

Jerry [aka Bora]🐥 is face-time calling.....

"Hello"

"YOOH!!" Yoohyeon had to move the phone away from her face because of how loud Sua was.
"I just saw the interview, The way you answered him was insane.Your a professional badass"

" I don't feel like badass tho. I actually think I should apologize to him, I was–

"Kim Penelope Yoohyeon,"
That's not even my middle name but whatever
"You will not apologize to that toxic piece of trash, so don't you dare continue thinking about it "

She sighed. " I guess you may be right"

"The hell I am. And it's time for you to get out of that freaking bed and enjoy yourself"

Yoohyeon just stayed quiet.

"Come on Yooh, you never hang out with me anymore" Sua said pouting

"Eww stop pouting, it may work on your girlfriend but it won't work on me"

"Fine, but if you change your mind and finally decided to have fun for once in your life, text me"

Yoohyeon nodded and put her phone down, deep down she knows Bora's right,she never makes time for "fun", the reason because she doesn't want to risk getting into any unwanted scandals.
(Speaking of Bora and Yoohyeon, They both  met in the early stage of Yoohyeon's career. Bora was the one who helped her adapt and always stood by her side .As a result,Yoohyeon grew to trust and confide in her and now their best friends)
