Yelling was all Braylon was able to hear as he heard his father insisting him to stop acting like the stubborn teen that he was and just get ready for the Revealing. However, that was the last thing Braylon wished to do. The Revealing has never been something he enjoyed going to, considering it was anything but a joy to attend. The Revealing was a way for people of the specials community to mock whoever dared to have 'impure' blood, a cruel event that only benefited those who weren't involved.

Braylon simply didn't understand why he had to go. His parents could go on their own without the hassle of basically dragging him along with them. He knew full well that being the son of the most powerful specials couple came with certain duties, but he never asked for any of it, nor did he agree to abide by them. If it were up to Braylon, he would have been a normal guy. One that didn't hold the ability of fire at his fingertips. That in and of itself put a lot of expectations and pressure on Braylon, considering he was one of the few who had this special ability and knew how to control it.

It was both a fascinating yet dangerous ability to have, and the fact that Braylon possessed this ability caused him to believe that his father only used him as a trophy to the public.

After all, not only was Braylon's father, Michael Torres, one half of the city's power couple, but he was also able to be the father of Braylon Torres, a rare special who was actually able to control the ability at such a young age. However, Braylon did not want to be shown off as any form of reward to the father that doesn't show any sense of care for his only son, especially when Braylon knew that if he were to have any other ability like mind manipulation, the most common ability, or invisibility, which was still rare but not as rare as the one he possesses, his father wouldn't bother him as much as he did to lead a good example on behalf of this family.

"You're going to make us late!" Braylon's father yells

"Then just go. I don't see a reason for me having to tag along. There's no point." Braylon says, his tone showing that he was far beyond done with the conversation that had been going on for what felt like hours, but in reality probably only had been a few minutes.

"I'm no longer asking, Braylon. Get ready right now by your own will or so help me I will go up there and drag you down myself!" his voice sounded like he meant every last word.

At this point, Braylon knew he wouldn't be staying in the comfort of his room, so with a heavy sigh he responds with, "Fine, but I'm not going to enjoy it.", before getting out of bed in a sluggish manner.

Walking to his closet whilst ignoring his father's remark, Braylon searches for something to wear to the Revealing. It was almost like a funeral,to put it ever so lightly, considering whoever is being revealed as mutts must be treated as if they were dead to the rest of the community, so black was the only shade that should be worn. That unspoken rule made it easy for Braylon considering the majority of his clothes were black anyways, so he simply changed into a pair of black jeans and a black polo shirt. He left his hair in it's messy state, seeing no reason to get all dressed up and fancy for something he doesn't even want to attend to begin with.

Once Braylon was down the stairs he was met with his father's angry stare and his mother who was too busy doing who knows what on her phone to even notice Braylon at all.

"I have told you countless times before that The Revealing is something this whole family must be a part of, Braylon. And yet every time you have to find some way to make us late. What exactly do you have to say for yourself?" The tone in his voice showed no sign of amusement to Braylon's disobedience.

"I just don't like these 'events', as you put it. They are disgusting and, quite frankly, they're pointless." Braylon makes air quotes around the word 'events' as he responds to his father.
