NORMAN'S POV:
Ray gave me the saddest look. Simon was cuddled close to him while he was rocking him. He may be like 6 or 7, but he still was in pain. Ray looked so sympathetic that we didn't even notice Emma finally wake up.
"Oh! Emma!" I said, shocked.
"Y-you we're on top of Ray~" I blushed intensely.
"NOT WHAT YOU THINK!"
"IS TOO!"
"IS NOT!"
"IS. TOO." she said as she slapped me. I went and cried to Ray, acting as if I were a kid. I honestly like it when Ray takes care of me.
"What's wrong?"
"EMMA SLAPPED MEEEEEE!!!" He put a band-aid on my cheek and kissed my forehead again.
"Is that better?" He asked.
"Y-yeah.." I said, rubbing my cheek. He glared back at Emma and held me close, while holding Simon.
"What?! He asked for it!!" She argued back. He looked down at me and I shook my head 'no'. Emma got heated and stormed outside. I hugged him, careful not to bump Simon. He hugged me with one arm.
"Thank you." I mumbled.
"You're welcome." I smiled at him, and he kissed my head again.

RAY'S POV:
I can't believe Emma would slap someone like him..and he actually likes my smile?! He's a lot of things, including sweet. And annoying. And needy. And—
"Ray?"
"Oh! Yes?"
"Are you alright?"
"Yeah I'm fine!"
"Ok.."
HE'S CATCHING ON—
I kept rocking Simon until he fell asleep. I checked his temperature and he had a fever. Poor thing. I laid him down and kissed his head softly. I turned back to Norman.
"Let's go back to the cookout. And keep that ice on your head!" I yelled and walked back to my mom.
