Riley POV

Today was the day. Today my life would change. It was the day of the Auditions. I walked slowly, as a cold winter breeze rustled my scarf and a stray piece of hair fell from my messy scrunchie bun.

---

I arrived at ballet, a proud smirk on my face as I warmed up. As ballet started, we heard a howl. We all stopped. Was it an animal? We found out quickly. As there were no windows in the studio, we went to the door. We stared in disbelief. The world outside was pure white, a blizzard had swept up all living life. We closed the door and our teacher wrung out her hands. "Well. Seems that our professional may not be coming today! Okay girls, back to the studio, we have the practice to do!". How did that blizzard come in so quickly? The weather reports last night had said there might be some snow, but nobody had been expecting this. I composed myself, telling myself that there was always the next time. Plus, the school was most definitely canceled, leaving my day free to do whatever I wanted. I thought that it would be great to go out to lunch, maybe with Jay. Yes, that would be perfect. I smiled once again, before going back into the studio.

---

I walked home to find the little house alive and full of joy, decorated for Christmas. I smiled. Jay was the best. I yelped when I felt warm arms around me. I whipped around. "Who said you're allowed to scare me like that?" I said, sass strong in my voice. He shrugged innocently. " I apologize but you just look so cute just standing there I could not bear a second away from you," he said, in probably the cheesiest way ever.  I laughed as he hugged me again. "Wanna go upstairs and watch a movie?" I asked him as we swayed a bit in position. "Why of course!" he said holding his hand out on the steps. I laughed once again taking his hand as we went up the steps.
