Mom went through her jewellery today. She looked at loads: there were some really nice ones. My favourite was the light blue and yellow topaz one. Then Maddie did something horrible.
"What are you looking at Kenz? Oh wow, let me look!" She snatched the bracelet off me. I glared at her. Somehow Id become so over protective about the bracelet. Why didn't she understand and let me have it? Her eyes gleamed as she touched it.
"Give it back Maddie," I growled, snatching it off her.
I stroked the bracelet carefully. Maddie stared at me.
"That was mean," she argued, snatching it back.
"Girl's!" Mom cried. "It's a bracelet.
"I saw it first Mom," I protested.
"That's a lie!" Maddie put it on her wrist, smiling. "Look how beautiful it is Mommy. Can I have it?"
She was just doing that to wind me up but I couldn't stand it. I snatched it back.
"Ow!" Maddie gave me a hard Chinese burn. I screamed and hit her.
"GIRL'S!!" Mom shouted. "You're acting ridiculous! Like wild cats and dogs!"
Maddie smirked. "Meow."
I went to hit her again but she dodges and smacked me in the mouth. Pain swelled in my bottom jaw.
"Can I keep it Mom?" Maddie asked her. I wanted to pull her hair so bad. I reached out but Mom gave me the evil look.
"Well...Ok Maddie." Mom searched through the box. "I have something for you Madz, I bought it at a pawn shop one time -"
I wanted to scream. Maddie gets the bracelet I wanted and another bracelet?! I took a deep breath.
"I saw that first Mom," I snapped. "Tell her Maddie. I did didn't I?!"
"No."
"Yes I did! I have proof -"
"Yeah right." Maddie laughed. "You're just upset cos I saw it first. I did, stop lying Mack."
She was making it look like as joke. It wasn't: I was being serious, why couldn't he understand?!
