Have you ever heard the saying, "love is priceless?" I have and I can tell you, sometimes, just occasionally, there is a price.

The new girl. In a new school, a new town, for my dad's job. I hate it. Being the new girl is horrible. You have trouble making friends, and deffinatly can't keep them long. I just moved to a new school, Cadberry High School, in Colorad Springs, Colorado.

I walked in the school and realized, looking at everyone's face, that it would be that type of school. The type with all the cliques. I'm probably not going to make one friend here, I can feel it. One girl, the "snobby" girls clique, looked at me and turned her nose up. She then turned and started whispering and giggling with her friends, occasionally pointing towards me. I put my head down, thinking I wouldn't be noticed.
I was heading to my first block class, History with Mr. Paterson. Ugh, I thought to myself, school. I was almost there when I bumped shoulders with someone. "Oof," I said, stumbling backwards a little. "I'm sorry-" I stopped. My green eyes meeting beautiful blue ones.
"Don't be," he said sheepishly, helping me up. "It's my fault anyways, I wasn't looking were than I was going."
"It's ok," I said smiling. He had electric blue eyes and red hair. He was a couple inches taller than me, and was really kinda cute.
"Well I should probably get to class." He said to me as I snapped back to reality.
"Yeah, me too.""Bye," he said walking away.
"Yeah, bye." I turned around and started heading towards my class when he called to me,
"Wait! I didn't get your name!" he ran up to me, "Mine's Gage."
"I'm Ahleiah," I answered.Gage smiled at me,
"Pretty name, see you around Ahleiah.""You too Gage."

First, second, and third block passed in a blur, the same boring stuff. Finally it was fourth block, I was halfway done with school. I walked into class, there was only one spot left. Next to a girl with long black hair, cascading down her back in curls. She had hazel eyes and a light spray of freckles across her nose and cheeks. "Hi," she greeted me as I sat down.
"Hello," I answered
"What's your name?""I'm Ahleiah."
"That's an interesting name! Mine's Sydney, plain, old, boring Sydney." I laughed,
"No, I like it." She smiled,
"So your new here?" My laughing stopped, I hated being asked that.
"Yeah, moved from Destin, Florida."
"Cool," she said, just as the tardy bell rang. Thr teacher walked in.
"Alright, please take a seat and open your textbooks to page 473, Cameron, read the first paragraph."

Finally, it was last block, art with Mrs. Kreitziu. There were a couple spots open and I was looking for one when a hand went up and waved me over. As I got closer I realized it was Gage, there was an empty seat next to him. "Hey," he whispered to me, "Saved you a seat, Mrs. Kreitziu said we had a new student." I smiled and said,
"Thanks," blushing a little. Hopefully no one could see, the room was really dim.
"So," he said, "How do you like it here?" I sighed and answered,
"It's ok I guess, definantly better than my last school."
"Oh, where are you from?"
"Originally Arkansas, but from there I lived in Tennessee, Washington, Maryland, New York, California, Arizona, and just recently, Florida." He stared at me, mouth open.
"Wow, that's a lot of places."
"I know, I move a lot because of my dad's work." He nodded in understanding. We went into a comfortable silence and started working.

That night, when I got home, I was super excited to tell mom about my new school. When I walked in the door, I was surprised to see dad sitting at the kitchen table, reading a newspaper. "Hi, dad," I said.
"Oh, I didn't see you there! How are you Sweety?"
"I'm fine," I said, "What are you doing home so early?"
"Well," he said, "I wanted to ask you about your first day! How was it?"
"Um..." This was bad, he is super protective. "Well..."
