uhhhhh so this is like a poem? i wrote idk what it is i just needed to get it out of my brain at 12:30 at night so here it is! enjoy?

She started by reading a murder mystery

Then more murder mysteries

Until she could predict the killer halfway through

She knew how all the stories ended

Then it got worse or better depending on how you look at it

The nightmares started

And then they stopped

Like nothing had ever happened

Like this was normal

It was a normal thing now hearing about what horrible things had happened to these people

Trying to understand why she did this

Why was he a psychopath

Why did she kill those kids

Why was he smiling on trial

Why, why, why

Then it was for fun

Wikipedia got a lot of disturbing searches that week

Then she found someone

When she woke up the next day it was from a text from her 'partner in crime'

A kid's gone missing

An amber alert right beneath it

She knew she needed to be ok

And she was

For some reason.

The kid was found

When the sirens wailed past her stomach churned

Now she knew

Her faith?

Gone

She doesn't watch the news

But basically makes up for it

Research helped her

So, she started talking about it

Crime, cases she found interesting

It was so amazing that she got to do this

It helped

Even though it seems like it didn't

Ask her anything about criminal trials

She'll know

Ask her anything about how to kill someone, how to hide to body

She'll know

It's always there

In the back of her brain

Knowing that it isn't a appropriate conversation topic

But thinks about it anyways

She listens to true crime podcasts to fall asleep

She reads books on murder and enjoys it

She reads true crime

And she loves it
