"I'm going to be the best big brother ever!" He held the baby that was wrapped up in blankets close to his chest. "I promise to protect you no matter what!" He giggled, looking at his mother who smiled at him.
"You're such a good boy..." She whispered to him, putting her hand on his head. The boy giggled again.Do you ever miss those times?
"Come on, big brother!" The little boy pulled on his brother's hand, pulling him along. Smiles on their faces as they entered the elevator.
"Hold on boys! You two are too energetic!" Their father chuckled, entering the elevator after them. He pushed the button as the boys talked and giggled.
"I can't wait to see mom!" The little one cheered.
"I'm sure she can't wait to see you two as well."Of course I do. Even if things went wrong...
"No! No! No! Let me see her! Let me see mom!" The teenager screamed as he was held back by his father.
"Dad? What's going on?" The little one asked, tears in his eyes.
"Your mother-" Their father huffed, holding his oldest son. "Is getting a good check-up." He lied.I hated his lies though.
"When is mom coming home?" The little boy asked as he rested his head on his brother's chest.
"Never."
"Why?"
"...I'm sorry- I'm-" He covered his eyes, crying into his hands.
"Brother?" The little one looked up, getting off of him. "Brother what's wrong? Why are you crying?"
"Mom is gone... She can't come back..."
"...What do you mean?"
"She's dead."
"..." The little boy went quiet. His ears ringing as he felt...warm.I did too.
"Brother?"
"Yeah?"
"Why does dad leave so often...?"
"He had to work. But that's okay! I can take care of you!"
"Yeah!" The little boy chirped; his mood easily changed. He never really did take care of us after that, huh?
"I miss dad..."
"I know."
"Do you think he'll come back?"
"Probably not."
"Mm..." The younger closed his eyes as he rested his head on his shoulder.
"I'm sorry."
"Why?"
"You don't deserve this life..."
"I'm happy with it! Even if some things are bad... I have you!"Not really. He barely came home.
"Happy birthday, little brother." The oldest chuckled as he watched his little brother blow out the candles.
"I wish dad was here to see your birthday..."
"That's okay though! You see it!" The younger cheered. We really did only have each other from the start.
"Are you busy?"
"Yeah, sorry. I just... Need to fill out for this job, then we can play a game, okay?"
"Okay..." The younger sighed, leaving the room once more. He sat on the couching, watching the TV. He kind of wished his father was here so he could play a game with his brother and not worry about money...I want to go home...
I know.
I miss seeing you.
I do too.
Why can't I see?
It's dark.
Please hear me...
I do.
Talk to me...
I try.
I hear them.
Them?
I hear the guards. Please- Please help me-
They're not here for us.
I hear screaming...
I hear it too.
Is it him?
He's gone.
Please take me home...
Close your eyes.
I see you...
Come... We can go home...
