CHAPTER 1
I left homeHer name was Aba Landeli and she was just a girl who had never seen Earth before. She had seen Earth but only in books, in dreams or through her window with thousands of kilometres of empty space before it. From afar it was beautiful, it was peaceful too, but it was even prettier in the stories she always loved to read in the Great Library of the space base she was born on. Everyone loved her, she was the shy -but ironically talkative- girl who stayed alone but at the same time knew everyone's life.
Since that particular day, 15 years ago, she had always been curious about science, humanity and the major mystery that was the former home of the human race. Never in her wildest dreams she would have thought that her generation would be the one to see the first person to go back there. It was probably because she had discovered through the books how people had lost hope in going back there one day. Each generation focused on this goal less and less and she used to cry a lot about it.
When the young girl woke up that day in her spaceship commander t-shirt, the first thing that came to her mind was what she read in the newspapers exactly 17 days ago. A royal spaceship was leaving today. Nothing new to the population but the destination. Aba read the inked pages over and over for days before deciding she will do anything to be on board too. She had nothing to lose.
She was now carefully walking barefoot in the small kitchen. She watched her glass getting filled with water, brought up her magnetic bracket next to her mouth and recorded while whispering as to not wake up the sleeping family she was living with.
"Day 1 of the earth's extraordinary exploration. I may change the name later but it's way too early for this type of issue to be fixed, not that I've been thinking about this for ages and should have been prepared because I knew it would come-" With a deep breath she tried to calm her nerves, this was overly exciting for her young life and she knew the hardest part was to come. "Anyway, I am now about to leave and try to enter the ship. I take my bag -if we can call it a bag- and then I'll be on board before I can blink. It's exactly 4:39 right now, weather is good," she laughed as she was seriously looking through the nearest window, she couldn't believe that if her plan was successful tomorrow she would be able to say it without being nonsense. "Food, checked. Water, checked. Mental stability, definitely gone. For the best I guess."
And with this she started her journey. The door of the small and typical place she lived in made the sound it had always made and Aba would give anything for it to be the last time she heard it. She secretly walked down the metallic alley with strong adrenaline travelling through her veins. Her steps echoed against the cold material but she knew no one would hear it. Only one person was awake, maybe two if someone helped to start the ship but the departure place was still too far from where she was.
The Liraycdi had always been peaceful, the royal guards slowly had forgotten their main mission and vigilance had faded away from their job. That's why the young Landeli was so confident about her success. Right now she was looking at the grey ship and its opened door. The room was quiet as she expected but not empty. One man was standing behind a table right next to the huge platform leading to the inside of the ship. Even if she had watched this type of vehicle for years, Aba never stopped to be impressed by it, especially when it belonged to the royal family. She tightened her grip on her bag and confidently walked towards the man. In her opinion the most suspicious things were the ones people never actually noticed. That's why she didn't try to hide. She affirmed her feet on the clean floor and made her way to the ship.
The man looked up at the sudden noises and talked with a bored voice. "What is it?" He pointed at the bag Aba was holding and didn't even wonder why a 15 years old girl was going in.
