Whole story is Norman's POV
Ray was sobbing when I woke up. He kept crying and crying. I tried calming him down. He accepted my hugs but wouldn't stop. I asked what happened, and he cried harder. I got worried. I kept holding him as if he were a lost little kid, and he hugged me so tight as if I were going to go away.
"Ray-" I started, but he cried harder. I held him close and kissed his forehead. "Save your tears.." he stopped, sniffed, and hugged me tighter.
"T-thank you..." he snuffled, and I couldn't wait any longer to do this. I got up went to the side of the bed where he was laying down. I got down on my knee and pulled out a small box.
"Ray...you make me happy, your a ray of sunshine peaking through the gloomy clouds, I went through a lot...but I wasn't alone..I can't think of any other way to show my appreciation towards you...than this." His eyes had tears threatening to fall. "Ray, will you marry me??"
"Y-yes..!" He answered sobbing. I hugged him and put the ring on his finger.
-3 years later-
"Ryan! You got a little sister!" He said.
"WOW! I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE A BOY..!" She said excitedly. I ran my fingers through Ray's hair.
"What's wrong with boys, Ryan?" I asked the 3 year old.
"The tease me.." she said sadly.
"Well if they do, then you go to a teacher or talk to us, ok?"
"Ok!" She smiled and held Nora gently. I held Ray's hand that had an IV in it. He smiled at me and pulled the blanket up and fell asleep.
"Ryan time to go."
"But I wanna stay with Nora and Papa!"
"Papa needs rest, ok? Let's go...they'll come home this weekend. In the meantime, let's decorate Nora's room and make a banner for them with Auntie Emma and Gilda!"
"Oki!" She said happily skipping, holding my hand, and smiling.
