Day 16: Hansel And Gretel AU

"You ungrateful brat!" Your stepmother roared "You don't appreciate anything!" When you're after nodded along with her you couldn't believe it. You do all the housework and get almost no food in return, all you did was ask for a bit more food tonight and you were not only not feed but forced to sleep out in the cold!

You woke when the sun was just starting to rise in the sky and decided you have had enough. You stood and rushed into the woods, you'll be better off on your own than with those monsters anyway!

Maybe finding food is harder than you thought. You've been searching for hours and all it's brought you is more hunger. Until you smelled something sweet.

You pushed past a few overgrown bushes and came across a house....made of candy?

Your stomach growled once more and you decided a few bites wouldn't hurt. You walked up and grabbed one of the gumdrops from the walkway and took a huge bite, before someone's hand grabbed the collar of your shit yanking you into the air "What do you think you're doing?" You looked up to see a man with dark hair looking down annoyed at you. 

You started crying "Im sorry, im just so hungry." He sighed "Hey, it's alright, don't cry." You opened your eyes to see the annoyance had turned into fatherly patience as he placed you down "If your hungry come inside, we'll give you some food." You nodded as you followed him into the house, you looked around and saw a man string a pot as a little girl played with pony dolls a bit away "Hizashi we got another one."

The man looked up before waving at you "Hi, I hope you like soup." You shrugged "Im hungry enough to eat anything." You sat at the little gingerbread table as the man named Hizashi frowned "Why are you so hungry?" "Oh...I kinda ran away." The other man, the one who found you, sat next to you "Why?" "My stepmother is a real piece of work. She makes me do all the housework but when I ask for some food she throws a fit and gets my father to turn against me!" 

The two men frowned before hugging you "Well you're welcomed to stay here. We took in another run away a bit ago, he's upstairs right now. And Eri," They pointed to the girl on the floor "Her father wasn't good so we took her too."
