Prologue

After meeting that special person, and hanging out with them for about a year, Childe quit the Fatui Harbingers. He promised them that he would instead protect the world for he was inspired by their will to help others. Though during a battle with his former friends, the Fatui, his lover vanished before his eyes. All he remembers before they disappeared, were their final words. They turned towards him and spoke, "Childe dear! We will meet again, though in the mean time..please wait for me. I love you.."

Y/N, 20 years old, is a lost soul who hasn't moved on, so instead she lives her life guiding the travelers on their journeys. She hangs around Liyue, which is where she were born. Y/N is younger than most lost souls, making her not as experienced. However, she's already guided 2 travelers fully, the only downside is that she doesn't remember the travelers names once their journey comes to an end.

Childe, just escaped some Fatui members and rested outside of Liyue Harbor. Injured he sat against a rock and stared up at the sky. Suddenly, a girl appeared, looking down on him. Startled, Childe jumped up and got into his fighting stance, despite being injured. "Woah! Who are you? State your name and business here!" Childe was obviously not in the position to be fighting, though he still wouldn't give up, he'd come so far. "Oh uh.." Y/N started, "I'm Y/N and I just came over to ask if you need help. You looked injured so I thought I should help you out"

Childe released his stance and put one arm on his hip, "Well..I'm Tartaglia..but just call me Childe. A Traveler from Scheznaya.." Y/N stiffened, surprised at how open he was. "A traveler?" She asked intrigued. Childe took a glance at her, before slowly nodding. "Well if you need a Travel guide I can be it! I've already helped 2 others, of course that's only if you don't have one.." Childe could tell she would say something weird, but he certainly didn't expect that. Though no matter how hard he looked at her, she didn't show any signs of lying. "How old are you? And how long have you been guiding?" He asked taking note of any signs of dishonesty. "I'm 20, and I descended about 3 years ago..so I believe I've been a guide for 3 years" She was interested in Childe, so she made sure to keep calm, despite his intense gaze that is. Childe sighed and stretched a bit before sitting on the rock he was previously laying against. He made a gesture that told Y/N to sit next to him. Y/N was delighted they earned his trust, so quickly, they sat beside him.

They sat together for a while before Childe spoke, "Hey..could you maybe..heal me?" he asked trying to break the silence. Y/N nodded and hovered both her hands above his largest wound, in a few seconds his wounds glowed, then vanished. "Huh..so you have healing, uh magic?" he asked in a quiet tone. Y/N nodded and began searching their bag for food, "Yep! Though it only really removes the pain and the wound. Though..it only really heals about half of the damage it dealt towards you.." she dragged her words as she pulled out a piece of her Sweet Madame, "Here eat this, it should recover you fully." He thanked her and began eating. "Soooo.." she started, "what are you traveling for? Treasure, a place, an item, a pet..a person?" Childe finished up the Sweet Madame, "Well..I'm in search for my beloved. During a battle they vanished, all they told me was to wait for them. I did..but eventually I decided to travel and look for them instead." He said while gazing at Liyue, and the beautiful sunset that hid behind it's mountains. Y/N sighed, "That's nice..I believe I had a lover as well. However, I fail to remember them clearly." She said as her tone got quieter, almost as if she was talking to herself, "Maybe..you'll let me join you on your journey! Maybe that way..I could learn what love is again." She smiled at Childe, practically giving him no choice but to let her be his guide. Childe thought for a moment before making his decision and speaking, "Alright then, guess you're my new travel partner..huh Y/N?" He chuckled, then smiled. "Partner.." she mumbled, every on else referred her to an assistant or guide..and his smile felt warmer than others. Maybe this would be the best journey she'd ever been on.
