*Dean's POV*
"How many times are you going to put her through this Dean?"
"Sammy, don't start."
"It's a little unfair to her to keep her hanging on like that."
"Damn it, Sam! I know it is, I hate it, but what am I supposed to do, huh? It's not like I can stay, it's too dangerous for her and she can't come with us because it's too dangerous. I've thought about every option Sammy, and this is the best one..."
"Best one for who Dean? For her or for you? So, you don't have to be tied down if you don't want to be?"
"It's the best one for her!"
"That's crap and you know it."
I gripped the steering wheel tighter and pressed the gas, ignoring Sam. I will NOT let him try to talk me out of this. I'm not risking her life to satisfy my own. Hell, I'd love to have her here all the time and be around her, but that just can't happen.
I pulled into the parking lot of a little diner. "I'm hungry," I said turning off the engine.
"Fine," Sam said getting out of the car.
We sat down at a table in the back, and I grabbed the menu. We sat in silence as we looked over it.
"I think you should just think about what I said, Dean."
I glared up at him, "I have and the answers still the same. She's not coming!"
Sam took a deep breath, "Fine."
The waitress came over to our table, "What'll it be fellas?"
"I'll have the double bacon cheeseburger, extra fries and a slice of apple pie."
"You got it and for you handsome?" She was staring at Sam intently, but he hadn't noticed.
"Uhhh... I'll just have a salad. Thank you."
We handed back our menus, and the waitress walked off.
"You not going to acknowledge that hot waitress staring at you?" I asked Sam with a grin.
"Huh?" He turned to look and shrugged, turning back to me.
"So where are we headed this time?" I asked.
"Well, I think we have a case in Bozeman, Montana. There's a university there and some students have come up missing. None of the bodies have been found, but they all supposedly went missing from the same party." he fumbled for his laptop.
"Any info on suspicious people at the party?"
"Not so far, no one's said anything."
"How do you know it's a case for us then?"
"We don't, but there have been signs of activity around the area electrical storms, etc."
"So, there's a good chance it's for us then."
"Sounds like it."
"Great."
We finished the rest of our lunch in silence.
"We've got a long trip ahead of us, are you gonna be mad at me the entire time?" Sam asked once we were back in the car.
"Yep," I said as I put the Impala in reverse and backed out of the space.
