The next morning Ali and Thalia both wake up around 8:30 to hear Jamie and Mike arguing. Ali tells Thalia to stay upstairs. as she walked down the stairs Jamie yells to Mike "Why the hell did you get here at 5. a.m, you said you'd be home by 12?!!" Ali just walks back upstairs to her room. a few moments later Jamie knocks on the door and opens it and asks the girls to go to breakfast with her. Mike was still yelling as they walked out the front door but Jamie didn't care.
Walking into a diner they get seated and Jamie's ringer starts going off. It's mike calling a texting every five seconds. Jamie turned her phone off. "girls I'm so sorry he's being like this.." "mom does you genuinely want to be with someone who treats you like that? Be honest with me. I know you're still upset over dad but you are a much nicer mom when there's not a man in the picture" Ali says in an upset voice. "i...I don't but he makes me happ-'' Jamie says but gets cut off by Thalia. "Someone that verbally abuses you isn't happiness, it's guilt and fear that you feel because you know he's a bad guy." "Let's just eat and we can deal with all of this bs later."
After they ate they went shopping at the crystal shop next door. They were there for a couple of hours. They start heading home but when they get there Mike was nowhere to be seen. Jamie turns her phone back on and tries to call Mike but he doesn't answer. Jamie was so angry but she asked the girls if they would walk up to the market for her for something for dinner. Jamie went and sat down in her room so they get their shoes on and told Jamie they were leaving.
when they are just about to walk out the door Mike starts walking up. He was drunk and angry but mostly drunk. "Hi Ali is your mom home?" he says slurring his words. "No mike mom isn't home shes out with her friend." Ali says lying to him. "What friend? Edward? That slut." he says with a angered laugh. "Do not speak of my mother that way." Ali says heated. "Well tell your mother I wont be home I'm going to my buddies again." "Okay mike bye."
