Damien and Harmony were out enjoying some time together at the park, one of their favorite places to be whenever they had the chance. The time seemed to pass so quickly as the two shared stories and laughs together. It wasn't often the two could spend this time together with how busy Damien was, so each moment was treasured. It seemed today the park was extra enticing to most, as many couples, families, and people came to enjoy the fresh air.
As Damien was listening to Harmony speak, he felt something cold patter atop his head. It was so faint, he thought perhaps it had just been his imagination or his nerves reacting to nothing.
But it happened again.
And again.
And yet again still.
Damien noticed Harmony flinch suddenly and a little "Oh!" escape her lips.
"Did you feel something just now?" Damien asked.
"I did," Harmony replied as she rubbed at her shoulder where she felt it.
"I believe perhaps-"
Damien couldn't even finish his sentence when rain began to fall so suddenly, shocking the two.
"Goodness! Rain? Already? It wasn't to rain until later this week," Damien said, astounded.
There hadn't been a cloud in the sky, no wind, no chill, yet it all started to flood in. Neither Harmony nor Damien had brought an umbrella with them. It seemed they weren't the only ones as people rushed about, their pleasant evening interrupted, shielding themselves with whatever they had on hand. Some used the morning paper, a bag, a jacket, a book, anything to keep from getting soaked. The rain, though sudden as it was, came with an unexpected and unpleasant force.
Typically in such a situation, Harmony's instinct would be to use her wings to shield herself from getting rained on, but with such a crowd of people about... she recalled Damien's warning he'd often tell her.
'Perhaps it's best you avoid letting your wings out, in heavily crowded places, at the very least.'
Harmony paused her motions to free her wings from beneath her dress. However she couldn't just sit around. It wasn't very pleasant getting rained on if you did not wish for it, but that was the least of Harmony's thoughts. Harmony was concerned for Damien. Bless him, but Harmony knew how prone Damien was to catching illnesses, not to mention his bad leg which would definitely be affected poorly by the weather. Typically Damien's leg would react before weather such as this. It seemed to have been a surprise even to his own instinct. Harmony did not wish for Damien to catch a cold, especially with how busy a man he was. Being sick was a set back someone like him couldn't afford.
All the while as Harmony made up her mind, Damien too had been trying to think of a way to get someplace dry and quickly. His gaze fell upon Harmony and immediately he could tell just by the look on her face what she was thinking. He recalled his warnings to her and knew she took them seriously. He didn't however, expect her to commit to the thought she was having.
Damien's wide eyes watched Harmony's hands move to the back of her gown to just move some of the fabric in way of her wings being freed.
Damien's hands immediately grasped Harmony's within his own and stopped her from doing so.
"Wait!" Damien urged her.
"You'll get a cold, Damien. And you know as well as I you can't get sick. I don't mind," Harmony replied.
