"Nene!" Aoi called out, setting her watering can off to the side.
"The flowers are blooming!" The purple haired girl grabbed her friend's hands. "I seriously can't thank you enough for your help with the garden!" She said, smiling so widely, so brightly. She could light up an entire country with that drop dead gorgeous smile of hers.
"Oh, it's nothing! You've just been sick lately, so I wanted to help out a bit!" Nene chuckles, adjusting her broach that sat just above the bow on her uniform.
Aoi nodded as the bell yelled out. All the students in the class were already sitting down, a few more rushing in and scurrying to their seats, leaving Aoi and Nene the only two remaining standing. The two girls made a dash to their seats, arriving just in time as the teacher stepped inside the small classroom.
The classroom made both Nene and Aoi very claustrophobic but nobody else had to know that small factor.
Well, Akane Aoi knew. Kou Minamoto knew. But that was it. Those two were the only two who knew, a fact both girls were completely satisfied with.
Aoi felt her heart sink when Teru Minamoto stepped inside the room. "Good morning sensei, may I speak with Akane?" The sensei nodded. Teru signalled for Akane to step outside and Aoi let out a sigh of relief.
TIME SKIP
When the bell rang out again, Nene seemed to be in a rush to leave.
"Nene San, are you okay?" Aoi says, also grabbing her belongings.
"Yeah, I'm alright!" She said, looking through her bag for something.
"Here it is!" She exclaims, pulling out a small, golden gift bag. She holds it out in Aoi's direction.
"Here!" She says, gesturing for the perfectionist to take it. "Don't open this until midnight tonight, okay?" The daikon legged girl states as Aoi takes the gift bag into her hands.
"I won't but...What is this for? Are you moving or something?" Aoi asks, grasping the bag with shaky fingers and stinging palms.
"No! It's not really for anything special. Just to thank you for everything you've done for me over the years!" Nene smiles.
Aoi knew that her smile was a jackassed lie though. Nene wouldn't normally smile when her knuckles are buried in worried palms and her shoulders are trembling as though she will break down at any given second. That's not who Yashiro Nene is.
"Nene, what's wrong?" Aoi questions, taking a few steps toward the girl with teal tips in her hair.
"Nothing Aoi! I just need to get going." The girl said, taking a few steps back from Aoi.
Aoi took one more step towards the girl, and Nene took off running out of the classroom."Nene!" Aoi called after her, setting her things down on a nearby desk and running after the girl.
It was no use, of course. Aoi quickly realized that Nene was definitely faster than her.
