Celeste finds herself in a dark hallway not knowing how she ended up there. She tucked her long coarse curly hair under her ears to listen for any sound as she walks down the hall. At first, she did not hear anything until she heard a low hum, so she turned. Celeste then sees a door with light shining under and walks towards it with her hand reached out to it. A mixture of dread and anticipation fills her mind and quite honestly her heart as well while she turns the knob. A final deep breath she takes when she pushes the door open and walks through the doorway's frame.
"Is it snowing?"
Celeste ask herself while looking up. Looking back at her is a milky starry sky with not snow but feathers falling. She extends her arms out and twirled with the feathers that looked as though they shared the same shimmer as the stars. It was beautiful and it felt beautiful to Celeste. It was as though the feathers knew how her body would move and was the perfect dance partner. Celeste extended her fingertips out and suddenly felt a different texture than what feathers would feel like. She opened her hands out in front her and made a small gasp leave her lips.
"Rose petals?"
She questioned out loud even though she doubted a reply. But yes, that starry sky has falling stars that once entering the atmosphere they turned into those shimmering feathers but once in Celeste's touch they manifest into white rose petals. Having a questionable look on her face as the rose petals fills up her hands, she hears a distant voice.
"Maiko..."
The voice is low and sweet to her ears but it still startled her as it causes her to drop the petals down upon a now river that she has been standing in since the beginning. She does not feel cold or wet yet oddly feeling a warm breeze through her hair and against her skin. Glancing down she sees the white rose petals causing a luminating path on the surface of the river. Again, she hears the voice
"Maiko..."
Coming from the direction the glowing petals started to form a path to. She begins to follow the path in her long flowing white dress but does not feel the heaviness as she would imagine moving in the water. It was as if she was weightless and non-existent in the water causing no disturbance or causing no ripples as she moved following the petals upstream. The full moon and petals are the only light source besides the stars and the twinkling trees that looked as though stars were embedded in them. With the sky looking like a giant geode with the colors of an Amethyst all the way across, it was almost breathtaking to Celeste.
"Maiko...."
This time the voice is a little louder but still sweet and Celeste gained a little more speed.
"Who is that?"
She said softly to herself and at that moment she realized her luminating path had ended still in the river. Celeste franticly looking around to see where she should go next and if she will hear that voice again.
Pausing to catch her breath she slowly lifts her head up and noticing that feathers are still falling. She lowers her head back down and extends her finger and touches a feather and at an instant it dropped into a luminating white rose petal in the river.
"Maiko!"
The voice yelled the moment the petal touched the surface of the water. Celeste jerked her head from looking down and looked straight forward with now knowing they are all connected somehow. With her right hand she lifted her dress and with the left hand extended out to turn the feathers into the petals as she runs to the voice. For some reason it was so easy to run in the water, but she did not want to think of that, just wants to focus on getting to there, even though she does not even know where is there.
