Chapter 1

Emily's POV

.

Sigh!!!

I'm sick of applying for jobs , and not getting any response. It's been 2 months since I was fired from my last job. Anna and Kat are bearing my expenses and I feel extremely guilty about it. I've been in front of the computer for 3 and half hours and applying to every reputed company I've ever heard of.

*ding dong* *ding dong*

I was startled and my thoughts were interrupted by the door bell

Kat shouted from her room
"Somebody open that fucking door".
Kat is not a morning person, if you ever think of waking her up, I feel sorry for you.

An irritated anna came out of the kitchen grunting " Ugh...don't shout, I'm on it "

She went and opened the main door and i was behind her

I saw a very beautiful woman and a really cute little boy .

" Hi, I'm Monica, and he is my son Lucas.

Anna put her hand forward to shake hers and said
"Hi it's really nice to meet you. I'm Annabelle. "

"And I am Emily " I said shaking her hand.

I dropped down into my knee to greet the kid who was hiding behind his mother and said " Hi lucas, I'm Emily "

He have a pretty toothy smile and said " Hi Emily " . I didn't miss how  his cheeks turned pink .

I invited them inside and went into our kitchen to get cookies for little lucas while Monica was having a chat with Anna

I offered monica and lucas cookies which they happily accepted.
Monica looked at her son and said " Lucas loves cookies, if you offer one, you will be his best friend"

We all laughed at her statement and saw Lucas happily eating them

"Who rang the bell and disturbed my beauty sleep? " Kat  said grunting, she stopped when she saw monica sitting on the couch. Kat went and introduced herself and they started having a chat.

Anna took little Lucas in her arms and started playing with him. Anna love kids, she know how to entertain kids perfectly. She worked as a nanny to many kids before and that's where she developed her love for them . She always wished to have one.

Monica grabbed our attention by saying " I opened a new cafe downstairs. It's called "Cups & Cakes" . I would love to have you guys over there."

Kat said "Oh my god, do you bake? "

Monica chuckled and said "Yes, I love baking."

Kat really loves baking, she didn't learn anything professionally, Kat's mom taught her how to bake cakes, cupcakes, pies, etc. She wanted to become a baker for a very long time now. She is really talented in that stuff more than her current job.

Kat said, "do you mind if I visit your cafe today? I really love baking and I wanted to open a cafe since I was young"

Monica was surprised by her intrest and said " I would love to have you over at my cafe "

Lucas then said "I love this cookies, can I have one more? "

I chuckled and said "of course honey, come with me " I took him to our kitchen and offered him more cookies. I asked him about his favorite game, I was listening to him where he talked about his favorite game for 5 minutes.

Monica called lucas and announced that they were leaving.

We went to see them to the door and waved them good bye .

Kat said " Guess we have another person to join our little group ". Monica seems like a really nice person and we would love to spend more time with her.

We closed the door and sat on our couch, chilling . Our conversation was broke when we heard my phone ringing
