"Today, we are going to continue our last topic which was the respiratory system," The teacher spoke up in front of the class, his belly protruding behind the pink button up shirt adorned on his body, "Now, let us look into the specific parts of..."
The teacher continued but the sound of his voice mixed with the gossip and chats from other students were all washed out as you were on the verge of dozing off.
With a hand propped up on your desk and your chin in your palm, your eyes fluttered, showing that you were fighting sleep and inevitably losing.
But soon enough, the doors slammed open, making you jolt up quickly, harshly blinking your eyes.
Cocking your head backwards with a sigh escaping your lips, you couldn't care any less as you knew it was yet another latecomer, barging into class tardy.
You heard the voice of the student, which was very familiar, vigorously apologize for his abrupt arrival.
When the student was let into the lesson, he passed your seat, brushing his fingers on your desk on the way to his seat, signifying his arrival.
You looked over beside you where his own seat was located, your eyes softening when you saw his appearance.
He glanced over at you, you giving him a look that asked him what was wrong but all he did was shake his head, leaving the both of you to continue with the class.
After what felt like hours of learning, more like sleeping, the period was finally over.
You packed the things, which you didn't even put to use, into your backpack, when a note was slipped onto the table.
You glimpsed at it before looking up to who dropped it, the back of the boy from earlier giving you an answer.
Shaking your head, you carried the note up to read it.
The spot, right now.
"This kid" You hissed.
Why write a note if you were going to the same place right now?
Brushing it off, you slung your bag over one of your shoulders and left to "the spot"
"The spot" was an area in your school where you usually hung out with your best friend, the boy from earlier.
A quiet place, no one else knew of, well at least, no one else wanted to go to, it being the neglected rooftop of your school's building.
As you walked up the stairs, you thought about how he looked that morning, paler than usual and his eyebags more prominent, it could have been from tiredness but the boy was never really tired.
Once you reached the top, you spotted him, kicking his feet as he sat on one of the benches.
You made your way and sat beside him, notifying him of your own presence.
"So," You turned to him, "Why'd you call me up here when we're gonna meet here during lunch anyways"
There was a pause before he looked at you with a faint smile on his face which played in contrast to the state of his almost saddened expression. "We broke up"
Your eyes widened. You couldn't help it. You tried to mask your countenance but it somewhat shocked you.
"Wh– what? How? Why?" You bombarded him with questions, the corner of the boy's lip raising as he turned away, looking at the scenery the rooftop presented.
