TEEN NIGHT

BASED ON A TRUE STORY

MY POV

            It was 2:20 and school just ended. Me and my siblings were outside in the school yard waiting for my other sibling to come out. It was raining very hard and all the students and parents that were waiting had to wait in the rain for a long time. But I didn't mind at all. All I had in mind was 'Teen Night'. You might be wondering what Teen Night is, Right? 'Teen Night' is an event that the school planned for the middle schoolers and fifth graders of the school. Of course I was a fifth grader. My older brother was mad that the fifth graders were even invited to Teen Night even though they aren't teens. He would repeat that he hated it but I ignored him. I didn't  care about what they thought about it. I was just worried about one thing. THE PERMISSION SLIP.

           The permission slip is the form your parents have to sign for their permission to go to teen night. Of course my mom signed mine but I was worried I wouldn't get to go because I forgot to give it in to the teacher. As I was outside waiting in the rain all I could think about is how am I gonna go to teen night without giving in the permission slip. I told my older brother about the problem but he just told me to go ask the principal about it but I didn't want to.

               My brothers friend, Luis walked up to us and asked us if we were going to teen night. He said yes but he said that he doesn't know if I'll come cuz of the permission slip situation.Luis told me that I should hurry and give it to the principal but I was to scared to.

           My other sibling finally came out and me and my other siblings went home. That was the moment I knew I messed up. As I was walking home I thought about how I can't go to Teen night. When I get home my mom asked me if I'm going to Teen Night. I say I don't know cuz I didn't really know if I can attend. My mom told me to try to go anyways. 

          I put on my outfit and get ready for teen night. I had to get ready quick cuz teen night was gonna start REAL SOON. I bring money so I can pay for my food, I fold up my permission slip and put it in my pocket just in case. Me and my brother leave my house to walk to the school building for teen night. As I am about to cross the street, I notice a girl, from my class across  the street all dressed up. I assumed she was also going to teen night. Me and my older brother finally make it to the school building and enter. My brother and I enter the main lobby, and I was kinda shocked by how many kids there were. When the principal walks by collecting permission slips, I give her my permission slip and she put my brother and I to the front of the line. I walk to the front of the line and notice that my math teacher, Ms. Grayman and her Crush/assistant teacher, Mr. Levis were the ones who were checking if kids were invited to teen night. I was shocked because I didn't know she would do something like with her crush/assistant teacher😏.

             As they check if I was invited to teen night they let me go upstairs but not my brother cuz he wasn't on the list. So I walk up stairs to the second floor upstairs by myself. As I am walking up I was feeling relieved that I got to go to teen night. I made it to the second floor and see another line of kids waiting to get checked to see if they can walk in. I stay right where I was cuz I was confused until I see my friend Amy in the line. She notices me too and gestures to me to come over in the line. I walk over to her totally skipping everyone in line to hug her. The hug was pretty awkward cuz we've never hugged before and we aren't "besties". "Hi Maddie."she said. "Hey Amy". We greet each other and have a conversation until it's my turn to get checked. She already got but she waits for me outside the entrance of teen night. Soon after my brother comes just in time to get checked in. After I get checked Amy and I walk through the tinsel curtain and finally enter TEEN NIGHT! This was the moment I knew this will be a night to remember😏.
