"The entry fee will be 1,000 Pokedollars per person."
Both you and one of your neighbors, Shauna, arrived at the Parfum Palace during your mission to awaken the sleeping Snorlax.
Shauna, being the one she is, was shocked.
"You've got to be kidding! It costs money to go inside??"
Serena smiled a bit at her reaction, even if she agreed. It did seem quite overpriced to enter such a place, but they both couldn't decline the payment. They had to get the flute to awaken the sleeping Snorlax.
The guy standing at the gate spoke back to Shauna in a rather calm tone, compared to the tone Shauna was talking in.
"You see, the owner of this palace follows the school of thought that you can never have too much money."
"Yeesh! This is how the rich gets richer!" Shauna blurted, causing a couple of people to turn their heads her way. Shauna realized, and decided to just pay up the money, ending up with Serena doing the same.
"Here is your entrance fee."
The guy standing in front of the tall golden gate took the money as if it was not much to him, and then took a key out of his pocket to open the gate.
"This proceeds from the entrance fee help pay for repairing and restoring the palace." Said the man as he put the key back into his pocket and opened the gate, allowing Serena and Shauna to walk through the gate. They both walked on the long path to the grand double-doored entry, admiring the fascinating architecture of the building.
