I was flying. No, I was soaring. My long, dirty blonde hair fluttered in the wind. The ocean stared into my blue eyes. I glanced back to see my friends, April and Genie, staring in shock as I fell. First off, I wasn't high, if that's what you're thinking. Second off, I wasn't suicidal either. I live for that rush of excitement of almost dieing. The one that I get at least. Your life flashing before your eyes may seem like a curse, but to me it's a gift.
"You're the craziet, stupidest, most-exciting person I've ever met!" April screamed after me, as if she's never seen me do this kind of thing before. She's literally the person who got me attracted to this rush, after she pushed out of a tree in 1st grade. Ever since then, I had loved it, and she'd been my best friend. We met Genie in 7th grade, when I'd jumped off the roof of the school and landed in the fountain out front, no damage done, thank you very much. No damage ever, in fact. I had never, ever been injured by one of my stunts. Now, where was I... Oh, right Genie. She's the one who pulled me out of the fountain. We'd been a trio all along the way. While I'm talking about my friends, let's describe them, so you know who you're dealing with. April was always afraid of what may happen, but once she started doing whatever the stunt was, she couldn't stop. Now, she wasn't as much of a risk-taker as me, but she's getting there. She's got sheer hair and brown eyes. Genie, on the other hand, was a rich girl, with a go-with-the-flow attitude. Now, you may be thinking, "What's a rich girl doing hanging out with a dare-devil?", but she's not the type of rich girl who wears designer clothes and pricey jewelery. In fact, she doesn't care much for her appearence, and we love her for it. She's the one who's funding our Summer trip, the one we're on right now. We decided on an around-the-world trip, and climb trees and cliff-dive and other stuff like that. She's got copper brown hair and hazel eyes. She doesn't usually participate in my "actions", but she loves filming them with her top of notch cameras. April wants to go to Juliard and study classical music. Genie wants to to the University of Southern California and study filmography. I'm not exactly sure where I want to go, as there are so man-
My face hit the water with a loud splash.
"Aw man!" I shouted. I had missed the best part. The feeling of all the air coming to a sudden stop, as you glide smoothly into the water, surrounded by calmness. April and Genie were already rushing down the side of the cliff. I trudged out of the water, disapointed as ever. When they finally came down, I was sitting on a log.
"What's wrong?"
"Are you okay?"
"We heard you say 'Aw man'!"
"What happened?"
They went back and forth asking questions about what happened. I glanced longingly at them and sighed.
"I didn't feel it." They looked at me like I had just spoke a foriegn laguage.
"What?" said confused April.
"The rush," I glanced at the lake, "the rush I get every time."
Hang on, hang on. You are getting WAY too far into the future. Before I say anything else, you need to know what happened first.
Author's Note-
Hi guys! How are you liking the book so far? Don't worry, the chapters will definitely get longer as it goes. I'm thinking that Blake Lively as a teen will be Skyler, because she always had a mischievous look to me, don't you think? So just keep on reading, and I promise things will get better.
