Hey guys >:)

So, to all of you who have read and perhaps enjoyed my prologue to this story: I thank you all :D (Even though there were like 3 comments, dunno if the ghost readers enjoyed it)

So here's chapter 1! Hope this will live up to the "greatness" of my first Chapter Fic c:

I feel today is gonna be great.

This science exam? Nothing to it!

"Bring it, Science!" I say confidently, and close the front door. I breathed in the cool Friday morning air, making my way to school before 9:00AM.

Some of our neighbours are already out mowing their lawns, and I waved to them as I pass their yards. I heard them even when I woke up. The Californian heat really starts up in the mornings.

"It's already pretty damn warm." I huff, glad I decided to not wear a hoodie for the day. But I chose my 'lucky t shirt.'

Well, it was my Dad's old t-shirt, but he handed it down to me a while back, when I was younger. A little faded and pretty ancient, but it makes it look even cooler.

Why is it lucky? Dad always called it that, because he was wearing it when he met my Mom, his wife. All those years ago.

"Hey Brian!" I look to my left, across the street, and spot a few of my classmates. Though we never really talk or hang out, but it was nice of them to say hello. I wave over to them and smile, and they set back to their conversation. School is only around the corner.

"Have you noticed it Dad?"

"I have. It's okay, she's just joined a new group that's opened up on the other side of town."

"What's it about?"

"Oh you know, the stuff she likes... Adventures, charity events, some cookery too. She told me she's met some nice people too."

A recent memory passes my mind, a conversation I had with Dad a few weeks ago. For a while now, lets say 3 weeks tops, Mom has been absent every Tuesday and Friday evening, an odd time she has come back late. But again, it ain't my business, so I shouldn't get into it. If it's good for her, well I guess I should be happy.

I made it around the corner, and walked through the school gates. There was only a few students walking around, and some teachers rushing into the school. I check my phone, and see I was just on time.

XxX

"Alright class, settle down."

We had finally made it through the first few classes of the day, and were now in Science. Mr.Dawson, our Science and English teacher, was getting some students at the front to shush. I guess they were happy since it was Friday. Mr.Dawson pulled open his desk drawer, and took out some papers.

"I hope you didn't all forget!" he said happily as he held them up, and he earned a few groans in reply. He started handing out the papers when the classroom door opened, and in walked Matthew Sanders, the quite boy who sits at the back of the classroom... Who everyone ignores.

"Ah, Matthew! Please take a seat, we're starting our test." Mr.Dawson told him, happy to give us work. Matt nodded, not looking up, and made his way to his seat.

"Still cute..."  I think to myself as he passes me, and I glanced up at him quickly. His eyes stayed fixed to the floor as he clutched on to his schoolbag. I heard him slump his bag down, and pull out his chair to sit. Of course, that didn't sound creepy. Not at all.

My sheets were handed to me. It read "Do not open until given permission by teacher".

"Okay, you all have 45 minutes to complete this test. This is good revision for your big exams in a few weeks, so good luck!" Mr.Dawson reminded us of our big exam. We gotta do these for a week or more, then the next big thing is the Summer holidays.

Fuck yes.

"I'm wearing luck." I muttered to myself quietly, and open the first page.
