"Alright. In this world, threats come in different shapes and sizes. Each of them has a magic ability. As humans, you can't easily guard yourself against it," Gwain explained.
Gwain, Ami, Geo, and Jason were in an arena. Gwain was training the 2 humans. Different worlds, different tactics in fighting.
"Geo, you're first. I won't use magic for now. Hit me once and you win. If I knock you down, it's game over," Gwain said before launching towards Geo.
It was a short fight. Since Geo doesn't have any good experience in combat, he was knocked down in a matter of seconds.
"I told you to fight against me! Why are you resisting?"
Gwain turned around to Ami and told her, "You think he's your ticket to freedom?"
She simply nodded yes. Her pet dragon(?), Noobe, nodded yes too.
"He'll be our doom instead..." Gwain had her doubts.
"Jason, it's your turn," She called.
"Sure."
He stood up as he locks his blade, preventing it from ejecting, walking towards the arena, and stood quite far, facing Gwain.
"Same thing. You hit me, you win. I knock you down, you fail."
She immediately dashed towards Jason. Jason having himself prepared for a similar situation, dodged the attack.
"What the..." She said, surprised about it.
"Gonna play it safe and not attack her," Jason made up his mind.
Gwain tried to punch and kick Jason again, and again, and again. All attacks were dodged by the assassin, entirely without him hitting her back.
"Why aren't you hitting me?" She said, catching her breath.
"Look, I'm just trying to play nice. I don't want you to get the sense of me being evil just because I attack you," Jason explained.
"Huh, doesn't change the fact that humans are evil," She stated.
"The past has to stay in the past, my queen."
"That's why becoming an assassin has its cons. Seeing your friends get captured or getting captured yourself, locked away from the world," Jason was standing calmly.
"Starting a new, dark life of an assassin after becoming one," he continued.
"Becoming a shadow just so the world sees light,"
Ami felt concerned. Geo felt the same thing too. Surprisingly, Gwain calmed down as she hear those words.
"That's how we assassins live. We work in the dark to serve the light."
There was a pause as Jason walks towards Geo and took back the blade he gave to Geo. As he attaches the blade to his arm, someone called Gwain.
"Queen, breakfast is ready."
Gwain immediately pushed both humans away. Both the humans fell into a nearby lake.
"That was a close one. It may sound bad, but Lucy is blind. It's too risky for the humans to stay here. You'll need to hide them," Gwain informed Ami.
Ami was staring behind Gwain. She stared at a tall watchtower and knew the best place to hide the humans.
"You know a place?" Gwain asked her.
"Wait, I forgot. Humans can't swim here..." She realized that she pushed the humans into a lake near them.
