Saiki Kanon was quite an average young woman, despite the status of her husband and her quirk.

She had lived most of her childhood in a small town in the countryside, and had moved into Jaku City in high school to fulfill her dream of becoming a chiropractor. Years later, through a sudden encounter with a villain, she was saved by a local pro-hero who happened to be patrolling near the hospital that she had worked at.

After three years of dating him, Kanon had married the very hero who had saved her, and had their first child a year after that.

Unfortunately, her husband had been killed in a particularly violent fight with a powerful villain two months after her pregnancy, and she was left alone with the last person she could call her family being the unborn baby inside of her.

Three months of grief, anger and acceptance passed by, and she started to worry for her child. For now, she could feed herself through the funds she had received after her lover's death, but money would soon be a problem, since she wouldn't be in a good physical condition to work.

There was also the worry that the stress she had dealt with might have affected the health of her child; the main source of this worry was due to how she rarely felt any movement in her stomach, despite how her baby should've been much more active during the late stages of pregnancy.

Soon, the fateful day had come, and while enjoying a peaceful lunch with one of her neighbors, her water had broken. It was unexpected, with her only being only 32 weeks pregnant, and she had been immediately rushed to the hospital.

She had woken up two days later, mostly drained of her strength, and worried that something had gone wrong during labor. The only memory she had of the experience was seeing her newborn child literally fly out of her womb, but she had believed that she was hallucinating from the amount of pain she had felt.

An hour or two later, a smiling nurse had come into her room, and gently handed her something bundled up in soft, light-pink towels; her child.

The moment she saw him, the months of nervous fretting on her shoulder had vanished.

Her baby, her son, despite being born a few weeks too early, was born completely healthy, at least to the naked eye.

Soft fluffs of pink and purple hair covered the top of his head, and through his somewhat open eyes, she saw the violet irises of her husband staring back at her.

Tears leaking down her face, she wept in joy and relief, and cradled her son as Saiki Kanon cried for the first time since the day of her lover's death.

". . .his quirk? What about it?" Kanon fiddled with her thumbs as the doctor slowly took a seat in the stool next to her.

"It seems that your son has a bit of a quirk abnormality. Now, I'm not saying that this is a bad thing, as-"

Her hands stopped, and she took in a sharp gasp, cutting off the doctor's words.

"What? But- but he's so young! Are you sure? I thought that you could only confirm the state of someone's quirk after at least a year has passed after their birth!"

Was her son not as healthy as he had looked from the outside? Neither her husband or her family had any history of malfunctional or mutant-type quirks, so what had happened?

"Don't worry, don't worry!"

"When I said that his quirk was a bit strange, I certainly didn't mean it in a negative way." Letting out the breath she was holding, her gaze of worry quickly turned into curiosity. "Have you heard of children who receive their quirks a bit earlier than normal?"

"I have read that there's a chance that some get their quirks a year or two before they turn four, but what does that have to do with my son?"

"Turns out that your son is one of those special people! Despite how he was literally just born yesterday, his quirk somehow manifested four whole years before what's average!"

Kanon sat in shock, taking in what she had just been told. Her son had already gained his quirk? It was unexpected, since both she and her husband were late bloomers, but she was glad that it wasn't something too serious.

Leaning back down onto the uplifted hospital bed, she let out a quiet sigh of relief.

". . . So, what was his quirk?"

I say that this story is a rewrite, but not anymore! :) From this point on, the fanfiction will be pretty different from the original, and will be written from scratch.
