"This cannot be. Y-You are not my mate," a man with sharp amber eyes and brown hair stared down at her. Anemone titled her head up to look at him in confusion. How did it come to this? A few minutes ago, she was merely looking around the strange village when guards started trying to apprehend her. Not knowing what to do, she started running away with the aim of getting out of the village. However, her plans were disrupted when her body was slammed onto the ground by someone. Her hands were tied with rope and she was interrogated like a criminal in a prison cell.

The very person that interrogated her was this tall and muscular man with amber eyes. As soon as he set his eyes on her, she could see the expression on his face turn into shock and confusion. To him, it felt like the world crumbled in front of him.

"What do you mean, sir?" she asked as she tried not to look at this fine man in front of her. She couldn't help but question what kind of dream she was in. The term he used are those of the typical werewolf genre. Mate. Soulmate. That word. Despite knowing this, she wanted confirmation. She couldn't just blindly assumed things based on her own views. Misunderstandings may arise if she did so.

Hearing her question, he broke out of his shocked state and walked closer to her cell. Staring through the metal bars of the cell, he couldn't help but examine her appearance. She was wearing such peculiar clothes. "Why is she wearing such provocative clothing? It appears that she is not wearing anything that will cover her legs. This girl. What is she trying to do?" he thought as he glared at her.

"Uh. So those people started arresting me all of a sudden? Did I do something? I need an explanation so that I can at least apologize if-" her statements were interrupted upon hearing a furious growl from the man. That growl was not a sound that a human would make. It resembled that of an animal.

Her eyes widened as the pieces started coming together in her mind. Her mouth moved before she could even think. "Are you a werewolf? Or something close to that? Dude, I didn't mean to enter your territory. I was just lost and found this village."

Hearing her words, he let out a bitter laugh before replying, "Oh, it seems that you do not lack awareness after all. I am suspicious of your intentions. I cannot blindly trust your words even if you are my mate."

"I am your mate? Like soulmate? Right? Why haven't you answered my question regarding that? Are you trying to keep me in the dark or is this common knowledge in this world?" she thought to herself. She wanted to ask more questions regarding this world and its customs but she was afraid of being labeled as a person who has lost her sanity.

"Look at me. Stop wasting my time, human. Tell me your purpose and reason for coming here." His statement filled with frustration snapped her back to reality. He spat the word 'human' as something poisonous and repulsive. Based from his previous responses, he did not believe that she got lost and stumbled upon this village.

Not knowing what to do and say, she remained quiet as she stared the dirty floor of the prison cell. She was panicking on the inside as she tried to think of how to handle this situation. She wasn't used to being confronted like this. As an introvert, she was not well-versed with social interactions that deal with conflicts and drama. She prefer to be avoid those things and instead, do her own thing by the sidelines.

This weird dream seemed a little too real for her to feel the texture of the floor and the rails of the prison cell. Upon this realization, she started questioning whether this is a dream or not. Did she get isekai'd?
