The day of the InterHigh came quickly and all of the teams were ready to go. Aoba Johsai, unsurprisingly, got through the first two rounds with ease. Karasuno got through with less ease but got through nonetheless.

"Umm, I don't know if I wanna be here anymore." Asahi shook nervously in his shoes. Their last memory at the InterHigh wasn't so good, and they'd have to go up against Aoba Johsai again anyway.

"Calm down, Asahi! Be a man!"

"Look who's talking." Tsukishima scoffed, his headphones slung loosely over his shoulders.

"WHAT DID YOU SAY?!" The short libero screeched, ready to kill the beanpole of a volleyball player. "RESPECT YOUR ELDERS!"

"Yeah, Tsuki." Hinata teased, only getting a harsher glare from the blond.

"Hurry up, Daichi's gonna get mad." Sugawara whisper-yelled to his team. Those words immediately made them all straighten out and head to the gym.

"Y'know, this is obsessive behaviour," M/n said, pushing his hands deeper into his pockets. Oikawa pouted once more but kept his eyes focused on the display case. "We have a game in an hour and you drag me to get milk bread?"

"Fine, just leave like everyone else does!" The brunet let out an exasperated sigh, making sure to hit any buttons he could.

"Shut up. I just don't wanna be late."

"Alright alright, we'll leave."

"Thank you-"

"After I get my milk bread!"

Of course, Oikawa and m/n eventually made it back on time. They both knew Iwaizumi's wrath was much worse than no milk bread.

"They seemed riled up." Hanamaki rolled her eyes, almost to the back of their head. If he wasn't happy, he didn't necessarily like other people's happiness.

"Can you blame them?" Yahaba sighed, picking up the stray volleyball. "It's not every day you get to up against us-!"

"Shut up and get back to work!" The coach yelled, causing them both to groan. It's not like they didn't enjoy playing volleyball, they simply didn't like exerting any energy in the process.

Meanwhile, m/n looked himself up and down in the changing rooms. He ran a hand up and down his chest, feeling the seams of the binder. "M/n-chann! Time to play~!"

"Please never say that again, Oikawa." M/n sighed, putting his shirt back on and heading out the door to meet his team.

"Alright, gather around!" The coach took a deep breath, preparing his speech, however, the captain cut him short.

"As much as I hate to say, Karasuno is a formidable opponent. I'm sure coach would've said the same thing."

Aoba Johsai looked to their captain, admiration barely hidden. Especially from the younger ones.

"If we let our guard down we'll be swallowed up. So we need to go all out from the beginning!"

And just as quickly as the inspiration came, his bubbly personality melded back. He faced his team with an eager smile. "I believe-"

"We believe in you captain!" The third years chorused. It was obvious their act caught Oikawa by surprise. "But if you don't get the ball over, you owe us ramen."

"Is this a common occurrence... Or something...?" M/n whispered to the younger Kindaichi. Honestly, he seemed just as surprised as the next person and gave a small shrug.

Eventually, the whistle was blown and the coin toss started.

The battle of the crows versus the great king.
