Friend-Zoned

Chapter 1

Brenna sat at lunch, eating her goldfish. Ryan was sitting very close. Out of the corner of her eye she sees Kat walking towards him.

Oh no, she thinks. Whenever Kat gets invovled in relationships things usually fall apart. One time she went up to Madison's crush and accidently hinted that Madison liked him. Nobody really took Madison seriously very often, but Brenna would hate if that happened to her.

Another time Kat told sombody Juvia's crush, and that person told Juvia's crush that she liked him.

Brenna held her breath as Kat began to talk to Ryan. If Kat messed this up, she didn't even want to think about what would happen.

"Hey can I have a cookie?" Ryan whined.

"Sure I'll buy you one," Kat said as she handed him a dollar bill.

"Wait... really? How come?" he asked.

"Well I was sort of rude to you in fifth grade... so this makes up for it." explained Kat.

"Oh yeah... haha that was funny though." commented Ryan.

"Yeah we were pretty young... oh well."

Ryan left to buy his cookie and Kat sat down next to Brenna.

"Can I have some Goldfish?" She asked. Kat always asked Brenna for Goldfish. She handed her some and then Ryan came back.

Brenna decided to ignore them and she talked to her other friends for a bit.

"Who do you like?" Kat whispered to Ryan.

"I don't like anyone," he said as he nodded towards Melinda. Uh oh.. Melinda and Brenna were best friends.. this was not good.

But then Kat thought about it and relized she didn't want Brenna to go out Ryan. Brenna could do much better than Ryan. He's very good-looking, but Brenna deserves someone who hasn't already had over five girlfriends at the age of 13.

Kat walked over to Brenna. "He likes Melinda," she whispered.

Brenna's heart dropped.
